Download or read book Cupid s Playground written by Nichole A. Carter and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2014-06-12 with total page 305 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I feel my heart racing when I see his face. I lose all my words when he smiles at me. My best moments are alone in my bed when I dream of him. He's my best friend. I feel intoxicated by his touch. Suffocation when he's near. Motivated when I see his girlfriend, to let him know I'm the one. His name is Jason. It's confession time. I'm in love with my best friend. My name is Melissa, and I've been best friends with Jason since grade school. It's now senior year, and I'm determined to let him know how I feel about him. With the help of Cupid and my friend, Kerri, I hope to find the words to tell him how I feel. The feelings that I have for this man is unexplainable. I desire him in a way that makes me re-think my good girl status. He makes it so easy loving him with his charming, sweet, and gentlemen ways. I can't take being in the friends zone with him anymore. Girlfriend or not, I need his undivided attention. It's wrong to have this much lust for one individual person. I never been kissed. Never been touched, and yet have this undeniable desire for him to be the first everything. I'm stingy and selfish wanting him to leave her altogether. It's senior year, and I'm not stopping, until he's mine.
Download or read book The Day I Shot Cupid written by Jennifer Love Hewitt and published by Hachette Books. This book was released on 2010-03-23 with total page 136 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: For any woman who has ever bought a self-help book and wondered why she bothered. (P.S. Now that I know he's just not that into me, where do I go from there? Yeah, thanks for that advice.) Jennifer Love Hewitt is a self-proclaimed "love-aholic" and hopeless romantic (her middle name is Love, after all!). She has been lucky and unlucky in love, and lived to tell -- and she's done it all in the spotlight. Much has been written about her love life--some true, most made up to sell magazines. Now Hewitt shares the real story of what she's learned navigating the dangerous dating waters. In The Day I Shot Cupid, Hewitt offers her hard-won wisdom and tells us how to embrace love with both feet on the ground. First, we have to shoot Cupid. We have to believe that happily-ever-after is hard work -- it's not all flowers and symphonies and floating hearts. Wise and wry and refreshingly honest, Hewitt talks about how to pick the right guy and how to know when to let the wrong ones go free, and she offers some surprising truths about the opposite sex. From twenty things to do after a breakup, to ten things to do before a date, to the perils of text flirting (Note: You are waiting. By the phone. For his response.), Hewitt uses stories and dating secrets to illustrate the idiotic, romantic, crazy, depressing, hilarious, awkward, glorious moments we all experience in relationships. Funny, quirky, and empowering, The Day I Shot Cupid deserves a place on every woman's nightstand, bookshelf, or coffee table, or tucked inside her oversized designer handbag.

Download or read book Lovely War written by Julie Berry and published by Penguin. This book was released on 2020-02-04 with total page 481 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A New York Times bestseller! Perfect for fans of Divine Rivals, a critically acclaimed, multi-layered romance set in the perilous days of World Wars I and II, where gods hold the fates--and the hearts--of four mortals in their hands. They are Hazel, James, Aubrey, and Colette. A classical pianist from London, a British would-be architect-turned-soldier, a Harlem-born ragtime genius in the U.S. Army, and a Belgian orphan with a gorgeous voice and a devastating past. Their story, as told by goddess Aphrodite, who must spin the tale or face judgment on Mount Olympus, is filled with hope and heartbreak, prejudice and passion, and reveals that, though War is a formidable force, it's no match for the transcendent power of Love. Hailed by critics, Lovely War has received seven starred reviews and is an indie bestseller. Author Julie Berry has been called "a modern master of historical fiction" by Bookpage and "a celestially inspired storyteller" by the New York Times, and Lovely War is truly her masterwork.
Download or read book Detroit Lenacrave and Cleveland written by Brooke and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2010-12-15 with total page 629 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: I was almost as hard headed as it gets while repeatedly insisting on missing and ignoring the entire point that Mom and a few others tried to get me to realize. GET YOUR EDUCATION!!! I still had some great times here and there every now and then, and I can only imagine how beautiful-my-life-would-have-been if I would have followed the The Golden Rules. Some wonderful things have happened to me even though I still feel that I truly did not deserve or even know how to sincerely enjoy thoroughly, but on the other hand, some not so wonderful things have happened to me that I basically brought on myself as a direct result of not following The Golden Rules. EDUCATION IS A MUST!!! I know my family was not the only family that has gone through a divorce, and I know there are millions of kids who went through divorce without a scratch. I am not blaming any of my failures as a man on the pitfalls of divorce, but I can clearly see now that my character flaws were a direct hit stemming from the casualties of my parents divorce. I did not ask to be me, and I certainly did not ask or expect to be stuck on stupid for almost three tenths of a century. It was what it was! If I would have known their divorce would eventually effect me which I believe set the wheels in motion that turned towards me turning out the way I have, I would have started Praying that night. But I had no idea it would, and neither did they. I can only imagine how beautiful my life would have been if their marriage was meant to be, but it was not about me. Brooke!

Download or read book The Soul of Hip Hop written by Daniel White Hodge and published by InterVarsity Press. This book was released on 2010-08-21 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What is Hip Hop? Hip hop speaks in a voice that is sometimes gruff, sometimes enraged, sometimes despairing, sometimes hopeful. Hip hop is the voice of forgotten streets laying claim to the high life of rims and timbs and threads and bling. Hip hop speaks in the muddled language of would-be prophets--mocking the architects of the status quo and stumbling in the dark toward a blurred vision of a world made right. What is hip hop? It's a cultural movement with a traceable theological center. Daniel White Hodge follows the tracks of hip-hop theology and offers a path from its center to the cross, where Jesus speaks truth.
