Durante estos años ha desarrollado, además, una continuada e intensa labor investigadora materializada en cuatro libros y un centenar de artículos o colaboraciones en obras colectivas, la mayor parte de ellos de Derecho del deporte y Derecho medioambiental, materias en las que es un destacado especialista y referente doctrinal tanto en España como en Latinoamérica. . Como, en su presentación, destaca Antonio Millán, coordinador de la obra, el profesor Real Ferrer, durante su mandato como presidente de la Asociación Española de Derecho Deportivo contribuyó decididamente a la consolidación de la entidad y a su proyección nacional e internacional, legando una cultura corporativa, unos criterios y unos valores en la gestión que han determinado su actual prestigio, general reconocimiento y presencia activa en todos los foros especializados.

En el momento de su fallecimiento, el profesor Bermejo era Catedrático Emérito de la Universidad de Zaragoza y Presidente del Consejo Consultivo de Aragón.
