Book Comminution Handbook

Download or read book Comminution Handbook written by Alban Lynch and published by . This book was released on 2015-09-07 with total page 324 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Comminution might well be the great technology of the 21st century, yet only a paucity of information exists on the topic. Alban Lynch has taken it upon himself to address this void, assembling an assortment of industry experts to produce the Comminution Handbook. With contributions from the coal, cement, sulfide and industrial mineral industries, as well as mill manufacturing and modelling groups, this work presents an overview of all aspects of comminution, the process of reducing solid materials via crushing and grinding. It comprises 16 chapters structured around the themes of material attributes, processing equipment, circuit design and circuit optimisation and control. The volume will appeal to professionals who are involved in, or have an interest in, comminution, metallurgy and related fields. It is hoped that the book will present comminution as it is today to those who have the responsibility of improving the technology in the future."--Publisher description, viewed AusIMM website, 7 October 2015.

Book Mineral Processing Design and Operation

Download or read book Mineral Processing Design and Operation written by Ashok Gupta and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2006-06-26 with total page 719 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mineral Processing Design and Operations is expected to be of use to the design engineers engaged in the design and operation of mineral processing plants and including those process engineers who are engaged in flow-sheets development.Provides an orthodox statistical approach that helps in the understanding of the designing of unit processes. The subject of mineral processing has been treated on the basis of unit processes that are subsequently developed and integrated to form a complete strategy for mineral beneficiation. Unit processes of crushing, grinding, solid–liquid separation, flotation are therefore described in some detail so that a student at graduate level and operators at plants will find this book useful. Mineral Processing Design and Operations describes the strategy of mathematical modeling as a tool for more effective controlling of operations, looking at both steady state and dynamic state models. * Containing 18 chapters that have several worked out examples to clarify process operations* Filling a gap in the market by providing up-to-date research on mineral processing* Describes alternative approaches to design calculation, using example calculations and problem exercises

Book Handbook of Modern Grinding Technology

Download or read book Handbook of Modern Grinding Technology written by Robert I. King and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 370 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The latest information indicates that the United States now spends in excess of $150 billion annually to perform its metal removal tasks using conventional machining technology. That estimate is increased from $115 billion 5 years ago. It becomes clear that metal removal technology is a very important candidate for rigorous investigation looking toward improvement of productivity within the manufacturing system. To aid in that endeavor, an extensive program of research has developed within the industrial community with the express purpose of establishing a new scientific and applied base that will provide principles upon which new manufacturing decisions can be made. One of the metal removal techniques that has the potential for great economic advantages is high-rate metal removal with related technologies. This text is concerned with the field of grinding as a subset of the general field of high-rate metal removal. Related processes (not covered in this text) include such topics as turning, drilling, and milling. In the final evaluation, the correct decision in the determination of a grinding process must necessarily include an understanding of the other methods of metal removal. The term grinding, as used herein, includes polishing, buffing, lapping, and honing as well as conventional definition: "... removing either metallic or other materials by the use of a solid grinding wheel".

Book Handbook of Non Ferrous Metal Powders

Download or read book Handbook of Non Ferrous Metal Powders written by Oleg D Neikov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2009-02-24 with total page 644 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The manufacture and use of the powders of non-ferrous metals has been taking place for many years in what was previously Soviet Russia, and a huge amount of knowledge and experience has built up in that country over the last forty years or so. Although accounts of the topic have been published in the Russian language, no English language account has existed until now. Six prominent academics and industrialists from the Ukraine and Russia have produced this highly-detailed account which covers the classification, manufacturing methods, treatment and properties of the non-ferrous metals ( aluminium, titanium, magnesium, copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, cadmium, lead, tin, bismuth, noble metals and earth metals). The result is a formidable reference source for those in all aspects of the metal powder industry. Covers the manufacturing methods, properties and importance of the following metals: aluminium, titanium, magnesium, copper, nickel, cobalt, zinc, cadmium, noble metals, rare earth metals, lead, tin and bismuth Expert Russian team of authors, all very experienced English translation and update of book previously published in Russian
