This book was released on 2021-08-05 with total page 202 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Do you have the courage to test your faith? Are you looking for a comprehensive dissection of scripture? Are you concerned with the innumerable contradictions that exist within the Bible? Have you felt shunned, attacked, or discredited because of this questioning? You are not alone. You are not a heretic, being used by Satan, or in need of being saved. In Crucifying the Bible, you will find the support and answers you have been searching for. After more than three decades of unquestioning belief and deep involvement in the church, Deborah Grace began studying scripture to better understand her faith, leading to a shocking revelation: The Bible is not true. She meticulously compares the foundational basis of the Old Testament with the writings of the New Testament and then challenges the Old Testament against itself. With the core of her life-long identity shattered, Grace walked away from the church and pushed forward, piecing together new beliefs built on knowledge and true understanding. She shares many of her discoveries on these pages: God never says we have to believe in a messiah to be saved The crucifixion violates Old Testament sin sacrifice laws Jesus does not fulfill the requirements for the prophesied messiah God lied to mankind from the very beginning and criminalizes independent thinking The Bible sanctions selective supremacy, slavery, and misogyny. Christianity adopted the idea of an evil antagonist Whether you are new to examining your faith or discarded it long ago, if you crave a more sophisticated, in-depth comprehension of the scriptures, this book is for you.

Book Storytelling in the Bible

Download or read book Storytelling in the Bible written by Jacob Licht and published by Eisenbrauns. This book was released on 1986 with total page 154 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Modern techniques of literary criticism, combined with a deep love of the Bible, have been employed by the author in this profound and original work. In six chapters and an Epilogue, the author analyses the aesthetic means by which the narrators achieved their ends. He shows us mimesis in the story of Saul and the witch of En-Dor. He shows how intense emotion led up to and conveyed as David hears the news of Absalom s death. He uses the story of the floating Axehead (2 Kings 6, 1-7) to demonstrate the way the narrator creates scenes (and invites the reader to stage it as a play in his head). The author allows the Old Testament narrative to speak for itself. In his own comments there is an arresting freshness combined with a vigor which enlivens the scholarship which illuminates the book."

Did the church distort the truth about Jesus by tampering with early New Testament texts? Do new insights and explanations disprove the resurrection? Book Contradicting Biblical Conjecture about the Crucifiction

Download or read book Contradicting Biblical Conjecture about the Crucifiction written by Gregory Heary and published by . This book was released on 2023-03-27 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Some Christians tell me I must believe that Jesus was crucified, died for my sins and was resurrected, or else. Or else I will go to hell forever. If the alleged crucifixion, death and resurrection really happened and I have to believe how the bible says it happened in order to go to heaven, then how does the bible say it happened? Whether you believe in the bible or not we have to be fair and let the bible tell its side(s) of the story. Too often we get told a non-biblical Easter story narrative instead of the biblical version(s) of events. Despite what I was told and used to believe about Jesus the bible paints a different picture than the Easter story they share in churches and mass media. After genuine study it is clear to the sincere reader that the biblical version of the crucifixtion contradicts the famous Easter story and each biblical gospel contradicts the other biblical gospels information about the alleged crime. This book proves that the crucifiction story which Christians are told and believe is biblical fact has no basis from the bible and is mythological conjecture composed of bits and pieces of some gospel texts wherein most biblical text on the subject is ignored because the 4 New Testament gospels contradict each other when describing the same alleged event. Basically to believe the Easter story requires one to disbelieve in most of the biblical text concerning the plot against Jesus. I guarantee that if you believe Jesus was crucified, died and rose again then you don't believe what the bible says regarding that. If the crucifiction story is true then I'd be a fool to disbelieve in it and if believing in it is the way to heaven then I'd be damned for doubting or disbelieving. Thus I offer my analysis in the hopes that a dialogue will begin and we all can be guided to the truth of what happened to Jesus the prophet of God.

Download or read book Unholy Writ written by T. Joyner Drolsum and published by AuthorHouse. This book was released on 2011-11-07 with total page 824 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: During our brief and perilous journey ex irritum ad irritum, how are we to find, what the German philosopher Martin Heidegger (Sein und Zeit) would call, the true approach to being? How do we answer the question posed by the Apostle Thomas when he asked how can we know the way (Jn. 14:5)? In other words, how should we fill that parenthesis of infinitesimal brevity, which James Joyce (Ulysses) maintained, demarcates each of our lives? The Bible has often been put forth as a supposedly infallible guidebook charting the correct path to an authentic existence (e.g. 2 Tim. 3:16-17). According to its proponents, Scripture is an absolutely dependable life-manual because it is the word of God (Summa Theologica, First Part, Q. 1, Art. 10). However, close inspection of the Bible calls into question its divine authorship; and, thus, its reliability as an accurate roadmap for the soul. In fact, under close examination it proves to be nothing more than a mundane and cobbled together collection of archaic superstitions beginning with the outlandish speculations of Moses concerning the creation of the world and ending with the maniacal ravings of John regarding its destruction. Exposing the true nature of Holy Writ was the main purpose for writing Unholy Writ. The modus operandi for this expos involved a thoroughgoing critical analysis of Scripture. The results from such a careful consideration of its contents clearly demonstrated that any claim that the Bible is some sort of sacrosanct ethical vade mecum is completely invalid. Specifically, the multiple contradictions and absurdities contained in the Bible confer an unreliability upon it that undermines its function as a guide for anything, let alone as some sort of moral map for the journey through life. Furthermore, many of the ideas that are promoted in Holy Writ are actually spiritually harmful. In addition, unless the condoned misogyny, violence, intolerance, injustice, and cruelty can be removed, then it is difficult to view the Scriptures as anything like an unwavering celestial beacon that clearly lights the way through the moral fog that at times engulfs our lives. Moreover, the many errors that it contains, including those about the natural world, undermine the pivotal claim that the Bible is divinely inspired.

Book Dr Bilal Philips The True Message of Jesus Christ A Reply Refutation and Rebuttal

Download or read book Dr Bilal Philips The True Message of Jesus Christ A Reply Refutation and Rebuttal written by A. Yousef Al-Katib and published by TellerBooks. This book was released on 2020-07-01 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In The True Message of Jesus Christ, Dr. Bilal Philips claims that Jesus Christ was merely a prophet of Allah who reaffirmed the central message that was later revealed to Muhammad. Dr. Philips argues that although Jesus claimed to be the Son of God in the Bible, modern translations of the Bible are corruptions of the original revelations given by Allah. Only the Qur’an, which downgrades Jesus’ status from the Son of God to a prophet, reflects God’s true, uncorrupted message. This Reply to The True Message of Jesus Christ demonstrates that Dr. Philips’ arguments are flawed and suffer from serious weaknesses on multiple levels. First, Dr. Philips’ claims are not historically grounded. Second, he misconstrues the text and meanings of the Bible. Third, he employs circular reasoning to support his assertions. Fourth, the claims Dr. Philips makes with respect to the corruption of the Bible conflict with even the teachings of the Qur’an on the divine inspiration of the Torah and other Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Some of Dr. Philips’ claims about the Bible are correct, though ultimately, they relate to minor or ancillary points, such as discrepancies in extant biblical manuscripts as to a king’s age when he began to rule. While such minor discrepancies exist, they should be expected in the copying and transmission of texts over thousands of years and they do not suggest deliberate falsification of the text for dogmatic purposes. Such discrepancies do not alter the overall message of the Bible—that “God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life” (John 3:16). The True Message of Jesus Christ fails to persuasively demonstrate that man has corrupted the Bible, that the Qur’an is God’s true and divinely inspired book and that Jesus’ true message is that He is merely a prophet of Allah, rather than God’s sacrificial lamb, offered “as the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2). Ultimately, the book fails to defeat the hope given to all who put their faith and trust in Jesus Christ.

This book was released on 2012-03-01 with total page 177 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Bible is accurate and without error! Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions Volume 2 offers 40 powerful explanations to prove it. There is an increasing focus in our culture on dismissing the Bible and its authority. Generations of skeptics and the religion of evolution have influenced even some Christian leaders. But Biblical evidence disproves the toughest of critics while bringing to light the indestructible power of God’s Word. Tim Chaffey, Ken Ham, and Bodie Hodge of Answers in Genesis highlight the answers to these debates and more: Is all Scripture inspired by God, or is some of it the opinion of the writers of Scripture? After His resurrection, did Jesus first appear to the eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee or in Jerusalem behind closed doors? Can God be tempted? Why don’t Christians follow all the Old Testament laws? Demolishing Supposed Bible Contradictions Volumes 1 and 2 are must-have references for every believer who wants to have an answer to give to those who ask a reason for their hope (1 Peter 3:15). Join the battle armed with the sword of Spirit, the truth that will defeat the lies aimed for this generation and those to follow.
