First, we need to spend time in the Word every day, for the word in the Bible embodies God, Christ, the Spirit, and life. The word and the Spirit are composed of Christ, His terminating death, and His enlivening resurrection. Every portion in the Bible is either the word of the cross or the word of life. We also need to see that the Lord's recovery is simply the recovery of Christ Himself as everything to us. If we see this, we will drop all concepts, ways, activities, and organization and simply cleave to Christ in everything. Furthermore, we need to realize that God's economy is God coming into us and that godliness is God flowing out of us. If we see and practice these things, we will live under the law of freedom. We need to review all these matters, fellowship concerning them, and practice them until they are wrought into our being. Then the church will be uplifted and enriched and will grow unto maturity.

From the beginning of this period until the end of the third week in September, Brother Lee ministered in Boston, Massachusetts; Washington, D.C.; New York City; Atlanta, Georgia; Miami, Florida; Toronto, Canada; Cleveland, Ohio; and Chicago, Illinois. He then returned to Anaheim and remained there until the end of the first week in November, after which he visited Spokane and Moses Lake, Washington; Vancouver, Canada; Seattle, Washington; and Dallas, Texas. At the beginning of December he returned to Anaheim and, except for a one-day visit to Irvine, California, remained there until the end of the year. The contents of this volume are divided into ten sections, as follows: 1. Five messages given in Boston, Massachusetts, on August 22 through 28. The contents of these messages were taken from personal notes taken by attendees in the meetings. The messages were edited and combined into four chapters. These messages were previously published in a book entitled Crucial Principles for the Proper Church Life and are included in this volume under the same title. 3. Six messages given in New York City on September 1 through 4. They were previously published in a book entitled Crucial Elements of God's Economy and are included in this volume under the same title. 4. Nine messages given in Atlanta, Georgia; Miami, Florida; and Toronto, Canada, on September 5 through 14. They were previously published in a book entitled The Healthy Word and are included in this volume under the same title. 5. Eight messages given in Cleveland, Ohio, and Chicago, Illinois, on September 15 through 20. These messages were previously published in a book entitled The Recovery of Christ as Everything in the Church and are included in this volume under the same title. 6. Eleven messages given in Anaheim, California, on September 29 through December 16. They were previously published as part of a three-volume set containing messages given by Brother Lee during the years 1978 and 1979. The messages in this volume were previously published in an eleven-chapter book entitled Truth Messages and are included here under the same title. The other two volumes of the three-volume set were previously published as Life Messages, volume 1, and Life Messages, volume 2. They are contained, respectively, in The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1978, volume 2, and The Collected Works of Witness Lee, 1979, volume 1. 7. The next three messages included in this volume were given in the Crystallization-study of Revelation during the summer training of 1999. Message One reveals that the book of Revelation is the unique and ultimate revelation of Jesus Christ in the stage of intensification. Message Two indicates that Revelation is a book that presents to us the revealed Christ and the testifying church. The revealed Christ is the Word of God, and the testifying church is the testimony of Jesus. Message Three presents a clear view of the Trinity in the book of Revelation. The Trinity in this book is the economical Trinity (1:4-5). The Triune God in Revelation is the processed and consummated Triune God (22:17a; 3:22; 14:13) and the sevenfold intensified Spirit (3:1; 4:5; 5:6). Ultimately, in the book of Revelation we have the consummate revelation of the Divine Trinity for the divine dispensing (2 Cor. 13:14; Rev. 22:1-2; 7:17a; 21:6b; John 4:14b).
