Book Cross Section Measurements of the E e D D and E e D D Processes at Center of mass Energies from 4 085 to 4 600 GeV

Download or read book Cross Section Measurements of the E e D D and E e D D Processes at Center of mass Energies from 4 085 to 4 600 GeV written by Medina Ablikim and published by . This book was released on 2022 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The Born cross sections of the e+e- → D*+D*- and e+e- → D*+D- processes are measured using e+e- collision data collected with the BESIII experiment at center-of-mass energies from 4.085 to 4.600 GeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 15.7 fb-1. The results are consistent with and more precise than the previous measurements by the Belle, Babar and CLEO collaborations. The measurements are essential for understanding the nature of vector charmonium and charmonium-like states.

This book was released on 2006 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We study the processes e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} 3({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}){gamma}, 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}){gamma} and K{sup +}K{sup -} 2({pi}{sup +} {sup -}){gamma}, with the photon radiated from the initial state. About 20,000, 33,000 and 4,000 fully reconstructed events, respectively, have been selected from 232 fb{sup -1} of BABAR data. The invariant mass of the hadronic final state defines the effective e{sup +}e{sup -} center-of-mass energy, so that these data can be compared with the corresponding direct e{sup +}e{sup -} measurements. From the 3({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}), 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}) and K{sup +}K{sup -} 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) mass spectra, the cross sections for the processes e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} 3({pi}{sup +}{sup -}), e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}{pi}{sup 0}) and e{sup +}e{sup -} {yields} K{sup +}K{sup -} 2({pi}{sup +}{pi}{sup -}) are measured for center-of-mass energies from production threshold to 4.5 GeV. The uncertainty in the cross section measurement is typically 6-15%. We observe the J/{psi} in all these final states and measure the corresponding branching fractions.

Book Measurement of Compton Scattering Cross Section at a Few GeV Electron Energy

Download or read book Measurement of Compton Scattering Cross Section at a Few GeV Electron Energy written by Li Ye and published by . This book was released on 2018 with total page 182 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Electron Compton scattering is the best known fundamental QED process, however, a precision measurement of its cross section for a beam energy above 1 GeV has been lacking up to now. An updated high precision measurement of the neutral pion lifetime via the Primakoff effect (PrimEx-II) experiment was performed in Hall B of Jefferson Lab in 2010. The experiment used small angle coherent photoproduction of [Pi] 0 's in the Coulomb field of a nucleus, i.e. the Primakoff effect, to determine the lifetime with a precision of less than 1.5% . It therefore requires thorough understanding of the underlying systematic uncertainties. To facilitate that data for well known electromagnetic processes were taken concurrently with the photoproduction data. This analysis pertains to measuring the Compton scattering cross section, which occurs with similar kinematics to the primary process. The combination of the well established theory for this process with large collected statistics allowed to extract this cross section with high precision in an energy region of 4-5 GeV for 12C and 28Si targets. The results of this analysis will be presented.

Book Measurement of the E e u2192 Cross Section Between 600 and 900 MeV Using Initial State Radiation

Download or read book Measurement of the E e u2192 Cross Section Between 600 and 900 MeV Using Initial State Radiation written by and published by . This book was released on 2015 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We extract the e+e-→?+?- cross section in the energy range between 600 and 900 MeV, exploiting the method of initial state radiation. A data set with an integrated luminosity of 2.93 fb-1 taken at a center-of-mass energy of 3.773 GeV with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider is used. The cross section is measured with a systematic uncertainty of 0.9%. We extract the pion form factor.

Book E E to Hadrons Cross Sections at BaBar

Download or read book E E to Hadrons Cross Sections at BaBar written by and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 4 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: We present an overview of cross-section measurements at BABAR. In e{sup {+-}} → few-body processes at a center-of-mass energy E{sub CM} = 10.6 GeV we make new QCD tests and the first observation of two-virtual-photon annihilations into hadrons. Studies at lower √s, using radiative return, yield new/improved data on spectroscopy, form factors and the total hadronic cross section, an important input to calculations of g{sub {mu}}-2 and [alpha](M{sub Z}). We also present an inclusive measurement of the running of [alpha].

Book Measurement of the Upsilon 1S Production Cross Section in Proton Proton Collisions at Center of Mass Energy 7 TeV

Download or read book Measurement of the Upsilon 1S Production Cross Section in Proton Proton Collisions at Center of Mass Energy 7 TeV written by Maxwell Ian Scherzer and published by . This book was released on 2011 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A measurement of the cross section for upsilon(1S) production in proton-proton collisions at center of mass energy 7 TeV is presented. The measurement uses the upsilon(1S) 2!mu + mu decay mode and covers up to a transverse momentum of 26 GeV in two bins of rapidity; upsilon(1S) upsilon(1S) -1, collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Templates derived from data are used to model the continuum background. In order to eliminate theoretical uncertainties due to the unknown polarization, the measurement is restricted to the case where both muons have a transverse momentum of p mu T> 4 GeV and a pseudorapidit

Download or read book Measurement of the Elastic Total and Diffraction Cross Sections at Tevatron Energies written by and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 3 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The CDF collaboration has measured the differential elastic cross section d?{sub el}/dt, the single diffraction dissociation double differential cross section d2?{sub sd}/dM2dt and the total inelastic cross section for antiproton-proton collisions at center of mass energies √s = 546 and 1,800 GeV. Data for this measurement have been collected in short dedicated runs during the 1988--1989 data taking period of CDF. The elastic scattering slope is 15.28 ± 0.58 (16.98 ± 0.25) GeV−2 at √s = 546 (1,800) GeV. Using the luminosity independent method (1 +?2)?{sub T} is measured to be 62.64 ± 0.95 (81.83 ± 2.29) mb at √s = 546 (1,800) GeV. Assuming? = 0.15 the elastic, total and single diffraction cross sections are?{sub el} = 12.87 ± 0.30,?{sub T} = 61.26 ± 0.93 and?{sub sd} = 7.89 ± 0.33 mb (?{sub el} = 19.70 ± 0.85,?{sub T} = 80.03 ± 2.24 and?{sub sd} = 9.46 ± 0.44 mb) at √s = 546 (1,800) GeV.
