Download or read book Handbook of Research on Future of Work and Education Implications for Curriculum Delivery and Work Design written by Ramlall, Sunil and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2021-10-08 with total page 640 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Higher education has changed significantly over time. In particular, traditional face-to-face degrees are being revamped in a bid to ensure they stay relevant in the 21st century and are now offered online. The transition for many universities to online learning has been painful—only exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing many in-person students to join their virtual peers and professors to learn new technologies and techniques to educate. Moreover, work has also changed with little doubt as to the impact of digital communication, remote work, and societal change on the nature of work itself. There are arguments to be made for organizations to become more agile, flexible, entrepreneurial, and creative. As such, work and education are both traversing a path of immense changes, adapting to global trends and consumer preferences. The Handbook of Research on Future of Work and Education: Implications for Curriculum Delivery and Work Design is a comprehensive reference book that analyzes the realities of higher education today, strategies that ensure the success of academic institutions, and factors that lead to student success. In particular, the book addresses essentials of online learning, strategies to ensure the success of online degrees and courses, effective course development practices, key support mechanisms for students, and ensuring student success in online degree programs. Furthermore, the book addresses the future of work, preferences of employees, and how work can be re-designed to create further employee satisfaction, engagement, and increase productivity. In particular, the book covers insights that ensure that remote employees feel valued, included, and are being provided relevant support to thrive in their roles. Covering topics such as course development, motivating online learners, and virtual environments, this text is essential for academicians, faculty, researchers, and students globally.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: [Abstract] This research topic explores the question, "What is the experience of women discovering the need to create balance in their lives?" Personal experiences are described using the heuristic research model. A literature review of books, journals, theses and dissertations revealed that no similar study had been completed. Data was based on the experience of eight co-researchers as well as the personal experience of the researcher. All co-researchers were women adddressing issues of balance in their lives. Each interview was tape-recorded, transcribed and reviewed for major themes of the experience of discovering the need to create balance. The identified themes were: I. Emotional and physical responses; II. Events or crisis that lead to desire to change; III. An awareness that old beliefs were not working; IV. A journey inward to understand the new awareness; V. A new acceptance of the self. The themes explored the struggle and challenge of maintaining balance in one's life while parenting and maintaining a career or education. The findings of this study could be utilized by clinicians and educators dealing in the psychology of women. The material in this research may also be of value in the understanding and awareness of how societal expectations affect the lives of women today.

Book Balanced Brand

Download or read book Balanced Brand written by John Foley and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2006-01-03 with total page 207 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Companies usually assume if their sales are good, then their brand and reputation must be strong. But all too often, they don't have a clear understanding of the values that drive brand and reputation and actually sustain long-term profitability and growth. This leaves companies vulnerable to dangerous backlash between corporate values, and those of their stakeholders: customers, employees, shareholders, media, government, and community. Even well-known and seemingly successful brands and reputations have suffered from this backlash (e.g. Nike and overseas sweatshops, Wal-Mart and unfair employment practices, McDonald's and obesity issues.) Every stakeholder applies their personal and professional values to judge the performance of a company. Branding expert John Foley has developed the BalancedBrand System, which helps companies assess corporate values, identify potential flashpoints, and align values to build a stronger brand and reputation. BalancedBrand identifies and helps manage the forces that will change the way business does business. Foley and co-author Julie Kendrick have created new tools that build and protect brands and reputations.
