Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: FROM THE AUTHOR Born in Northern Oklahoma, this book takes a humorous look at the Midwest through my own personal experiences. It is all about the sayings and stories I was told by my family while growing up. Most of what I wrote is true; the rest comes from my own sick mind. So consider yourself forewarned. As part of my early history, my great great-grandfather, was a Sooner having settled in Oklahoma, illegally, before it was a state. He was also in the land run from Kansas, only six miles from where I grew up, when Oklahoma opened up. So he was also a Boomer. Great-granddad had a large ranch, and would wake up in the morning and the barn was full of outlaws such as Frank and Jesse James. He always told my mother that Belle Starr was the ugliest woman he had ever met. They all called him Doc, and would always ask him to go with them to rob a bank or train. We were only a few miles from the Kansas border, and the posies would not cross into Indian Territory or Oklahoma, so it was a safe haven for them. I wrote this book as through the view of Mira "Balsa" Wood (the fifth). He attempts to tell the story of Mira Wood who was the roughest, toughest, meanest, nastiest, baddest, most killin'est badass, who ever lived in the Old West. It talks about Mira's known gang members that included the hotel owner Hyatt Regency, Hyatt's wife Belle Hopp, and their son Valet. In addition to other gang members such as, "The drug store owner was Benny Poppin, the stagecoach driver was Ron Over, and his gal, Patty Cake. Jack Goff was the town banker, and Imma Penny was the dance hall girl. The bar tender was Bill Fold, and his gal, Fran Chize. Oh, Mira's best pal Dr. Happy, and his gal, Rita Book, their sons were Scan and Edit. The lumberyard manager was Tim Burr. Stealey Buck was the finance man, and his assistant was Helen Wait. If you wanted credit, you had to go to Helen Wait. The general store owner Terry Cloth, and his wife Ronda Block, and their two sons, Chip and Dale." Chapters include: MIRA AND THE GOOD BOOK MIRA WOOD'S: HOW TO HEAL YOURSELF MIRA'S WORDS OF WISDOM GUNS TO BUY, IF YA WANT TO BE A REAL COWBOY THINGS YOU NEED TO BE A REAL COWBOY REASONS TO KILL MIRA'S INTERNATIONAL SIGN LANGUAGE WESTERN DICTIONARY POEMS WHAT THIS BOOK HAS LEARNED US MIRA'S NEW BOOKS TO BE PUBLISHED THE 10 COMMITMENTS THE COWBOY TEST
