Book Annotated Computer Output for Split Plot Design

Download or read book Annotated Computer Output for Split Plot Design written by W. T. Federer and published by . This book was released on 1987 with total page 52 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In order to provide an understanding of covariance analyses for split plot designs, analyses are first conducted on a data set without the covariate. Then an analysis with the covariate is performed. The third example has a different experiment design for the whole plots and the covariate is constant for all split plots within the whole plot. Computer packages may only give portions of the analysis correctly. Some packages require two procedural calls to obtain a portion of the correct results. BMDP 2V falls in the above category. Keywords: Analysis of variance; Experimental design.

Book Analysis of Variance and Covariance

Download or read book Analysis of Variance and Covariance written by C. Patrick Doncaster and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2007-08-30 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Analysis of variance (ANOVA) is a core technique for analysing data in the Life Sciences. This reference book bridges the gap between statistical theory and practical data analysis by presenting a comprehensive set of tables for all standard models of analysis of variance and covariance with up to three treatment factors. The book will serve as a tool to help post-graduates and professionals define their hypotheses, design appropriate experiments, translate them into a statistical model, validate the output from statistics packages and verify results. The systematic layout makes it easy for readers to identify which types of model best fit the themes they are investigating, and to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of alternative experimental designs. In addition, a concise introduction to the principles of analysis of variance and covariance is provided, alongside worked examples illustrating issues and decisions faced by analysts.

Book Experimental Design and Data Analysis for Biologists

Download or read book Experimental Design and Data Analysis for Biologists written by Gerry P. Quinn and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2002-03-21 with total page 851 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An essential textbook for any student or researcher in biology needing to design experiments, sample programs or analyse the resulting data. The text begins with a revision of estimation and hypothesis testing methods, covering both classical and Bayesian philosophies, before advancing to the analysis of linear and generalized linear models. Topics covered include linear and logistic regression, simple and complex ANOVA models (for factorial, nested, block, split-plot and repeated measures and covariance designs), and log-linear models. Multivariate techniques, including classification and ordination, are then introduced. Special emphasis is placed on checking assumptions, exploratory data analysis and presentation of results. The main analyses are illustrated with many examples from published papers and there is an extensive reference list to both the statistical and biological literature. The book is supported by a website that provides all data sets, questions for each chapter and links to software.
