Book Maintaining and Operating Cost of Toll roads in Indonesia

Download or read book Maintaining and Operating Cost of Toll roads in Indonesia written by and published by . This book was released on 1997 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Compared to toll-roads in developed countries, use of a toll for road financing is relatively new in Indonesia. This kind of road pricing system was chosen by the government in order to fulfil the inadequate existing transportation facilities in this developing country. Accordingly, in the early 90's, the development of toll-roads in Indonesia has already left its introductory stage. PT Jasa Marga, a state owned company, which is authorised to operate toll-roads in Indonesia is encouraging the private sector to participate in many toll-road projects. Accordingly, the financial figure is one of the major items to be considered in a privatization project. This paper will examine the maintenance and operation expenditure on toll-roads in Indonesia by different cost factors (e.g. length, number of toll booths), different toll road for different prices indices and where the toll road is built (Jakarta, outside Jakarta). By considering some relevant comparisons, this paper will show some unit-cost factors in operating toll roads. For the covering abstract of this conference see IRRD number 872978.

Book Infrastructure Investment in Indonesia A Focus on Ports

Download or read book Infrastructure Investment in Indonesia A Focus on Ports written by Colin Duffield and published by Open Book Publishers. This book was released on 2019-11-10 with total page 237 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Infrastructure Investment in Indonesia: A Focus on Ports presents an important and original collation of current material investigating the efficient facilitation of major infrastructure projects in Indonesia and Australia, with an emphasis on infrastructure investment and a focus on port planning and development. This interdisciplinary collection—spanning the disciplines of engineering, law and planning—draws helpfully on a range of practical and theoretical perspectives. It is the collaborative effort of leading experts in the fields of infrastructure project initiation and financing, and is based on international research conducted by the University of Melbourne, Universitas Indonesia and Universitas Gadjah Mada. The volume opens with a macroscopic perspective, outlining the broader economic situations confronting Indonesia and Australia, before adopting a more microscopic perspective to closely examine the issues surrounding major infrastructure investment in both countries. Detailed case studies are provided, key challenges are identified, and evidence-based solutions are offered. These solutions respond to such topical issues as how to overcome delays in infrastructure project initiation; how to enhance project decision-making for the selection and evaluation of projects; how to improve overall efficiency in the arrangement of project finance and governance; and how to increase the return provided by investment in infrastructure. Special focus is given to proposed improvements to the portal cities of Indonesia in the areas of major infrastructure project governance, policies, engagement, operation and processes. By rigorously investigating the economic, transport, finance and policy aspects of infrastructure investment, this book will be a valuable resource for policy makers and government officials in Indonesia and Australia, infrastructure investment organisations, and companies involved in exporting services between Indonesia and Australia. This book will also be of interest to researchers and students of infrastructure planning and financing, setting a solid foundation for subsequent investigations of financing options for large-scale infrastructure developments.

Book Jokowi and the New Indonesia

Download or read book Jokowi and the New Indonesia written by Darmawan Prasodjo and published by Tuttle Publishing. This book was released on 2021-12-28 with total page 374 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In 2014, Joko Widodo--popularly known as Jokowi--was elected the seventh president of the Republic of Indonesia, going on to win a second five-year term in 2019. Raised amid poverty in a riverside slum and with a background in the furniture export trade, Jokowi broke the mold for political leaders in the world's third-largest democracy. His meteoric rise came without the benefit of personal connections to the traditional elites who have dominated Indonesian politics for three-quarters of a century, making this a true "rags to riches" story. This new official biography tells the story of how the boy from the riverbank made it to the presidential palace in record time. Readers will learn how his personal background and heritage have created a distinctive style of politics and informed his ambitious development goals--including massive infrastructure projects, universal healthcare and a reimagining of Indonesia's educational system. It also looks at how a man raised with a traditionally Javanese worldview negotiates the tensions, contradictions and conflicts of this vast archipelagic nation. Written by a political insider with unparalleled access to the president and an intimate first-hand knowledge of his decision-making processes, this book is essential reading for anyone looking to understand the political present--and the future--of Southeast Asia's largest nation.

Book Construction in Indonesia

Download or read book Construction in Indonesia written by Toong-Khuan Chan and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2022-05-17 with total page 195 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Construction in Indonesia presents an in-depth analysis of the construction sector and suggests pathways to further improve the performance and efficiency of the industry. Experts in economics, management, and engineering have examined all aspects of the Indonesian construction sector to provide readers with unique insights into the workings of this important sector of the economy, and to analyse how both economic growth and policies have contributed to Indonesia’s development and how lessons learned can be used to guide future growth. Indonesia’s construction industry is set to grow rapidly after a decade of extensive investments in public infrastructure projects emphasizing new transportation, utilities, and social infrastructure buildings. The book is divided into two sections: Looking Back will focus on a critical analysis of the construction industry, its achievements and its failures, and the impact of the efficiency of the sector in bringing about improvements to overall quality of life. The primary purpose of the second section, Moving Forward, is to suggest directions and emphases for future action by the government of Indonesia (and other stakeholders) to promote the continued development of the construction industry. This book will be a valuable resource for policy makers in government and industry and other stakeholders to obtain a succinct view of the sector in the archipelago and to appreciate its potential to bring about improvements to the quality of life in Indonesia.

Book Case Study of Innovative Projects

Download or read book Case Study of Innovative Projects written by Bernardo Llamas and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2017-08-30 with total page 290 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In a global world, where the acceleration of technological changes is happening in all industrial sectors, a special focus is forced on innovation and creativity. The book has gathered a small number of sectors where innovation is being the main vector to achieve the competitiveness that companies are craving. The motivation to choose these sectors has been preceded by a careful selection in which we wanted to pick up those in which innovation is a key today. Different aspects push to create and innovate: the environment in general and in particular climate change is forcing to rethink sectors such as energy, infrastructure, water, biotechnology, materials, defense, education, or health. Dear reader, in your hand is a work that reflects the same spirit of the human being: curiosity and eagerness to overcome have allowed humanity to have evolved and still continue today.

Book Sustainable Design and Construction in Africa

Download or read book Sustainable Design and Construction in Africa written by Oluwaseun Dosumu and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2018-08-14 with total page 214 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book addresses some of the countless challenges faced by developing countries when adopting sustainable design and construction and offers suggestions for the way forward for African development projects. The authors argue that the pervasive non-consideration of the interrelationship between the elements of sustainable design and construction is the reason for the current failures in sustainable design and construction in developed countries. By treating sustainability as a complex system, the authors provide the missing link between the design and construction of projects in a sustainable way with a view to improving industry and project performance. In doing so the book posits the need for improved sustainability practice in developing countries, lessons for developing countries from the successes and failures of sustainability adoption by developed nations, factors influencing adoption of sustainability and effects of sustainable designs and construction on productivity, human health and the environment at large. This book will be of interest to construction researchers, practitioners, professional bodies, housing policy makers and government institutions as well as training and funding providers in these areas.
