Download or read book Comprehensive Organometallic Chemistry II Volume 7 written by D.F. Schriver and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2002-09-10 with total page 1071 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The section devoted to iron in this volume reflects the tremendous progress in the area. Specifically cluster chemistry, ligand transformations and detailed structural results are more prominent in COMC II. The organic chemistry of ruthenium and osmium is an area which has burgeoned during the period since the publication of COMC. This is especially true for the cluster chemistry of these elements, which have provided most of the advances in this important field. Consequently, this volume will include an update (1981-1993) of the chemistry of mono- and bi-nuclear complexes of ruthenium and osmium, with a rather more extensive treatment of tri- and tetra-nuclear complexes. This is because many of the early results in ruthenium and osmium cluster chemistry described in COMC are now much better understood and can thus be placed in a more general context. In the case of complexes containing clusters with five or more metal atoms, the coverage is essentially complete, again because this chemistry has developed during the 1980s.

Book excerpt: The editors of the volume Inorganic Chemistry in Spain have intended to achieve a collection of some chapters featuring the work of Spanish experts in Inorganic Chemistry, each one having specific expertise in some field. Areas that cover theory, classical coordination compounds, new materials, supramolecular assemblies, mechanisms of reactions, magnetism, organometallic complexes, and catalysis are included. In all cases, a special relevance is given to a deep understanding of the behavioural properties of the compounds featured, not only to their mere preparation methodologies, which had been historically related to classical Inorganic Chemistry. - Diversity of Inorganic Chemistry areas - Study of chemical behaviour for applicability - Modern Spanish Inorganic Chemistry
Download or read book Anion Receptor Chemistry written by Jonathan L Sessler and published by Royal Society of Chemistry. This book was released on 2007-10-31 with total page 431 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Anion recognition plays a critical role in a range of biological processes, and a variety of receptors and carriers can be found throughout the natural world. Chemists working in the area of supramolecular chemistry have created a range of anion receptors, drawing inspiration from nature as well as their own inventive processes. This book traces the origins of anion recognition chemistry as a unique sub-field in supramolecular chemistry while illustrating the basic approaches currently being used to effect receptor design. The combination of biological overview and summary of current synthetic approaches provides a coverage that is both comprehensive and comprehensible. First, the authors detail the key design motifs that have been used to generate synthetic receptors and which are likely to provide the basis for further developments. They also highlight briefly some of the features that are present in naturally occurring anion recognition and transport systems and summarise the applications of anion recognition chemistry. Providing as it does a detailed review for practitioners in the field and a concise introduction to the topic for newcomers, Anion Receptor Chemistry reflects the current state of the art. Fully referenced and illustrated in colour, it is a welcome addition to the literature.

Download or read book Copper I Chemistry of Phosphines Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles written by Maravanji S. Balakrishna and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2019-04-25 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Copper(I) Complexes of Phosphines, Functionalized Phosphines and Phosphorus Heterocycles is a comprehensive guide to one of the most widely used and extensively studied metals: copper. The numerous practical applications of copper compounds are discussed, including homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis and their use as fungicides, pesticides, pigments for paints, resins and glasses, and in high-temperature superconductors. The remarkable structural flexibility of simple copper(I) complexes, such as cuprous halides is covered, including numerous structural motifs that, when combined with different ligand systems, exhibit linear, trigonal planar or tetrahedral geometries. This work is an essential reference for inorganic and coordination chemists, as well as researchers working on catalysis, anticancer reagents, luminescence, fluorescence and photophysical aspects. - Discusses the properties of copper and similarities to noble metals, such as their corrosion resistance, high thermal and electrical conductivity and rich coordination chemistry - Includes the copper(I) coordination chemistry of tertiary phosphines, bisphosphines and phosphines containing other donor atoms and their potential application in catalysis, biosystems and photochemical areas - Features a discussion of the rich photochemistry exhibited by some mixed-ligand copper(I) complexes (phosphines with heteroaromatic ligands) which can exhibit coprophilic interactions, photoluminescence and thermochromic properties
