Book State Estimation and Coordinated Control for Distributed Electric Vehicles

Download or read book State Estimation and Coordinated Control for Distributed Electric Vehicles written by Wenbo Chu and published by Springer. This book was released on 2015-10-26 with total page 201 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book tackles some of the most challenging problems in state estimation and traction coordinated control systems to improve the dynamic control performance of Distributed Electric Vehicles. The developed methods make it possible to gain more accurate information regarding the vehicle states, ensure more desirable vehicle motions and better robustness in unforeseeable driving environments. Given the impressive features of Distributed Electric Vehicles, including their simple and compact structure, short transmission chains, fast and accurate control response, modular drivetrain design etc., it is widely recognized that they represent an important future development direction and attract many of the brightest engineers and scientists. This book makes a significant contribution to the design of safer and more efficient vehicles.

Book Coordination Control of Distributed Systems

Download or read book Coordination Control of Distributed Systems written by Jan H. van Schuppen and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-09-25 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book describes how control of distributed systems can be advanced by an integration of control, communication, and computation. The global control objectives are met by judicious combinations of local and nonlocal observations taking advantage of various forms of communication exchanges between distributed controllers. Control architectures are considered according to increasing degrees of cooperation of local controllers: fully distributed or decentralized control, control with communication between controllers, coordination control, and multilevel control. The book covers also topics bridging computer science, communication, and control, like communication for control of networks, average consensus for distributed systems, and modeling and verification of discrete and of hybrid systems. Examples and case studies are introduced in the first part of the text and developed throughout the book. They include: control of underwater vehicles, automated-guided vehicles on a container terminal, control of a printer as a complex machine, and control of an electric power system. The book is composed of short essays each within eight pages, including suggestions and references for further research and reading. By reading the essays collected in the book Coordination Control of Distributed Systems, graduate students and post-docs will be introduced to the research frontiers in control of decentralized and of distributed systems. Control theorists and practitioners with backgrounds in electrical, mechanical, civil and aerospace engineering will find in the book information and inspiration to transfer to their fields of interest the state-of-art in coordination control.

Book The Coordinated Management of Meaning

Download or read book The Coordinated Management of Meaning written by Stephen W. Littlejohn and published by Rowman & Littlefield. This book was released on 2013-11-05 with total page 357 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book honors the life and work of the late W. Barnett Pearce, a leading theorist in the communication field. The book is divided into four sections. The first section will lead with an essay by Barnett Pearce. This will be followed by sections on (1) practical theory, (2) dialogue, and (3) social transformation. In the broadest sense, these are probably the three general themes found in the work of Pearce and his colleagues. In another sense, these categories also identify three important dimensions of Pearce’s major contribution, the theory of the Coordinated Management of Meaning.

Book The Coordinated Management of a Culturally Diffused Identity

Download or read book The Coordinated Management of a Culturally Diffused Identity written by Jeffrey J. Leinaweaver and published by Universal-Publishers. This book was released on 2011-07 with total page 203 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Internationally adopted persons confront multiple challenges in constructing their identities. This study of the narrative burden of self looks at and interprets the dynamic process in which internationally adopted people develop, coordinate and manage their sense of self, identity and cultural/racial personhood. Drawing on the theory of the Coordinated Management of Meaning (CMM), the study focuses on their use of orphaning and adoption stories to most skillfully position and tell one's origin story in concert with one's internal sense of self, and the pressures and forces found in interpersonal and intercultural dialogue. The research reveals how internationally adopted people develop and demonstrate varying levels of game mastery in managing societal scripts and oppressive frames of stigma. Through this game mastery, the research brings to view how the participants have reflexively learned to claim ownership of their stories and develop a sense of agency while fashioning self-empowering narratives out of the resources of their personal root journeys to better manage, frame and coordinate the meaning of their stories across cultural and interpersonal boundaries.
