Download or read book Cooperative Control of Multi agent Systems written by He Cai and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2022-05-31 with total page 399 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The main focus of this book is a pair of cooperative control problems: consensus and cooperative output regulation. Its emphasis is on complex multi-agent systems characterized by strong nonlinearity, large uncertainty, heterogeneity, external disturbances and jointly connected switching communication topologies. The cooperative output regulation problem is a generalization of the classical output regulation problem to multi-agent systems and it offers a general framework for handling a variety of cooperative control problems such as consensus, formation, tracking and disturbance rejection. The book strikes a balance between rigorous mathematical proof and engineering practicality. Every design method is systematically presented together with illustrative examples and all the designs are validated by computer simulation. The methods presented are applied to several practical problems, among them the leader-following consensus problem of multiple Euler–Lagrange systems, attitude synchronization of multiple rigid-body systems, and power regulation of microgrids. The book gives a detailed exposition of two approaches to the design of distributed control laws for complex multi-agent systems—the distributed-observer and distributed-internal-model approaches. Mastering both will enhance a reader’s ability to deal with a variety of complex real-world problems. Cooperative Control of Multi-agent Systems can be used as a textbook for graduate students in engineering, sciences, and mathematics, and can also serve as a reference book for practitioners and theorists in both industry and academia. Some knowledge of the fundamentals of linear algebra, calculus, and linear systems are needed to gain maximum benefit from this book. Advances in Industrial Control reports and encourages the transfer of technology in control engineering. The rapid development of control technology has an impact on all areas of the control discipline. The series offers an opportunity for researchers to present an extended exposition of new work in all aspects of industrial control.

Book Formation Tracking Control for Heterogeneous Swarm Systems

Download or read book Formation Tracking Control for Heterogeneous Swarm Systems written by Yongzhao Hua and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-03-10 with total page 441 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Swarm system, also known as multi-agent system, refers to a system composed of multiple subsystems (agents) with certain communication, calculation, decision-making, and action capabilities through local information interaction, such as a group of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), satellites, etc. Formation tracking control of swarm systems is an important technical support and approach for the emergence of swarm intelligence at motion control level. By applying formation tracking control, swarm system agents can adjust their relations in the state or output space through neighboring information interaction, and then the swarm system can achieve favorable space-time conditions for many cooperative tasks such as source seeking, target enclosing, and surveillance. Thus, complex missions can be performed efficiently or cost-effectively. In cross-domain collaborative applications, including air-ground coordination and air-sea coordination, swarm systems are usually composed of several heterogeneous agents, and swarm intelligence can be enhanced by complementary functions of different agents. How to achieve time-varying formation tracking for heterogeneous swarm systems is crucial for cross-domain coordination, which has important theoretical value and practical significance. This important book presents a systematic theoretical approach and control framework on the time-varying formation tracking for high-order heterogeneous swarm systems. Distributed controller design and stability analysis of closed-loop systems for several specific formation tracking problems are provided. Furthermore, the proposed control approaches are applied to practical cooperative experiment platforms composed of UAVs and UGVs, and several formation tracking experiments are carried out to further verify the effectiveness of the theories.

Book Formation Control

Download or read book Formation Control written by Hyo-Sung Ahn and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-03-29 with total page 368 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This monograph introduces recent developments in formation control of distributed-agent systems. Eschewing the traditional concern with the dynamic characteristics of individual agents, the book proposes a treatment that studies the formation control problem in terms of interactions among agents including factors such as sensing topology, communication and actuation topologies, and computations. Keeping pace with recent technological advancements in control, communications, sensing and computation that have begun to bring the applications of distributed-systems theory out of the industrial sphere and into that of day-to-day life, this monograph provides distributed control algorithms for a group of agents that may behave together. Unlike traditional control laws that usually require measurements with respect to a global coordinate frame and communications between a centralized operation center and agents, this book provides control laws that require only relative measurements and communications between agents without interaction with a centralized operator. Since the control algorithms presented in this book do not require any global sensing and any information exchanges with a centralized operation center, they can be realized in a fully distributed way, which significantly reduces the operation and implementation costs of a group of agents. Formation Control will give both students and researchers interested in pursuing this field a good grounding on which to base their work.

Book On Distributed and Cooperative Control Design for Networks of Dynamical Systems

Download or read book On Distributed and Cooperative Control Design for Networks of Dynamical Systems written by Georg Seyboth and published by Logos Verlag Berlin GmbH. This book was released on 2016-06-17 with total page 185 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis contributes to the development of a cooperative control theory for homogeneous and heterogeneous multi-agent systems consisting of identical and non-identical dynamical agents, respectively. The goal is to explain fundamental effects of non-identical agent dynamics on the behavior of a distributed system and, primarily, to develop suitable control design methods for a wide range of multi-agent coordination problems. Output synchronization problems as well as cooperative disturbance rejection and reference tracking problems in multi-agent systems are investigated. Suitable controller design methods for networks consisting of identical or non-identical linear time-invariant systems, linear parameter-varying systems, and selected classes of nonlinear systems are developed. These controller design methods provide a solution to a wide variety of distributed coordination and cooperative control scenarios.

Book Time Varying Formation Tracking Control for Nonlinear Swarm Systems

Download or read book Time Varying Formation Tracking Control for Nonlinear Swarm Systems written by Jianglong Yu and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2023-07-14 with total page 218 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book focuses on time-varying formation control approaches for practical nonlinear swarm systems. Time-varying formation control is the basic guarantee for performing other tasks of swarm systems, such as cooperative decision-making and cooperative detection. However, most practical swarm systems have nonlinear dynamic models. This book studies three typical models of practical nonlinear swarm systems, which represent most of the practical systems and construct the corresponding formation control structure. At the same time, the effects of disturbances, uncertain dynamics, random noise and unknown leader's input are considered and processed to improve the robustness and adaptability. The comprehensive and systematic treatment of practical nonlinear time-varying formation control issues is one of the major features of the book, which is particularly suited for readers who are interested to learn time-varying formation control solutions in nonlinear swarm systems. The book benefits researchers, engineers and graduate students in the fields of formation control, nonlinear control, robust control, etc.

Book Cooperative Control of Multi Agent Systems

Download or read book Cooperative Control of Multi Agent Systems written by Zhongkui Li and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2017-12-19 with total page 262 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Distributed controller design is generally a challenging task, especially for multi-agent systems with complex dynamics, due to the interconnected effect of the agent dynamics, the interaction graph among agents, and the cooperative control laws. Cooperative Control of Multi-Agent Systems: A Consensus Region Approach offers a systematic framework for designing distributed controllers for multi-agent systems with general linear agent dynamics, linear agent dynamics with uncertainties, and Lipschitz nonlinear agent dynamics. Beginning with an introduction to cooperative control and graph theory, this monograph: Explores the consensus control problem for continuous-time and discrete-time linear multi-agent systems Studies the H∞ and H2 consensus problems for linear multi-agent systems subject to external disturbances Designs distributed adaptive consensus protocols for continuous-time linear multi-agent systems Considers the distributed tracking control problem for linear multi-agent systems with a leader of nonzero control input Examines the distributed containment control problem for the case with multiple leaders Covers the robust cooperative control problem for multi-agent systems with linear nominal agent dynamics subject to heterogeneous matching uncertainties Discusses the global consensus problem for Lipschitz nonlinear multi-agent systems Cooperative Control of Multi-Agent Systems: A Consensus Region Approach provides a novel approach to designing distributed cooperative protocols for multi-agent systems with complex dynamics. The proposed consensus region decouples the design of the feedback gain matrices of the cooperative protocols from the communication graph and serves as a measure for the robustness of the protocols to variations of the communication graph. By exploiting the decoupling feature, adaptive cooperative protocols are presented that can be designed and implemented in a fully distributed fashion.

Book Cooperative Control of Multi Agent Systems with Uncertainties

Download or read book Cooperative Control of Multi Agent Systems with Uncertainties written by Hao Zhang and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2024-04-04 with total page 300 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multi-agent coordination is an emerging engineering It has been inspired by the observations and descriptions of collective behavior in nature, such as fish schooling, birds flocking and insects swarming. The advantages of multi-agent coordination include: it can reduce cost and complexity from hardware platform to software and algorithms; in addition, multi-agent systems are capable of many tasks which could not be effectively performed by a single-robot system, for example, the surveillance task. The book proposes a hierarchical design framework that places uncertainties related to system models in the decentralized control layer (bottom layer) and the ones related to the communication (as well as physical interaction) between the agents in the distributed decision-making layer (top layer). The book shows that the two layers meet the separation principle under certain conditions, so that through the two-layer design framework, any challenges can be resolved independently, and the design complexity will not increase with the level of uncertainties. In addition, in order to solve the problem of energy limitation of agents, this book also studies the event-driven cooperative control of multi-agent systems, which can effectively reduce the energy consumption of agents and increase their operational life span. - Bridges the gap for engineers and technicians in the automation industry, including theory and practice - Provides a general framework for dealing with various uncertainties in multi-agent cooperative control problems - Contains contributions surrounding the development of multi-agent systems control theory
