Download or read book Cool Down and Work Through Anger written by Cheri J. Meiners and published by Free Spirit Publishing. This book was released on 2010-05-01 with total page 42 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Everyone gets angry, so it’s never too early for children to learn to recognize feelings of anger, express them, and build skills for coping with anger in helpful, appropriate ways. Children learn that it is okay to feel angry—but not okay to hurt anyone with actions or words. They discover concrete skills for working through anger: self-calming, thinking, getting help from a trusted person, talking and listening, apologizing, being patient, and viewing others positively. Reassuring and supportive, the book helps preschool and primary-age children see that when they cool down and work through anger, they can feel peaceful again.

While nations have signed treaties and implemented policies, most actual climate change assessments, adaptations, and countermeasures take place at the local level. People are responding by adjusting their practices, livelihoods, and cultures, protesting and migrating. This book portrays the diversity of explanations and remedies as expressed at the community level and its emphasis on the crucial importance of ethnographic detail in demonstrating how people in different parts of the world are scaling down the phenomenon of global warming.

I’m calm as can be. I’m taking care of me.” After a break, toddlers will feel like new—and adults will, too. Books include tips for parents and caregivers.

Book Cryogenics and Measurement of Properties of Solids at Low Temperatures

Download or read book Cryogenics and Measurement of Properties of Solids at Low Temperatures written by R. Srinivasan and published by Allied Publishers. This book was released on 2008-04-05 with total page 234 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Low temperature research has become fairly widespread in the country after the availability of closed cycle refrigerators. It is opportune to write a book for students and researchers in India on production of low temperatures and techniques for the measurement of physical properties of materials at such temperatures. This book is an effort in this direction. The first part of the book discusses methods for producing temperatures down to 1.8 K. There is a fairly extensive discussion on different types of closed cycle refrigerators. The behaviour of properties of materials relevant in Cryogenics is dealt with in some detail. Useful tips on construction of cryostats are given. Thermometry is discussed extensively. The second part of the book deals with digital measuring techniques. Details of experimental methods for measuring thermal and electrical properties, point contact tunneling, scanning probe microscopy, and noise at low temperatures are discussed. This part of the book is born out of the rich personal experience in such measurements of one of the authors (AKR). There is an appendix on vacuum techniques. The book can be used for teaching an elective course in Low Temperature Physics at the M.Sc. level. It will be useful for researchers in Low Temperature Physics.

This book was released on 2024-02-26 with total page 865 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The concept of periodization is not new, with the precursors of periodized training dating back more than 2,000 years ago. But it is now obvious that the holistic development of an athlete encompasses more than their physical and tactical training. Scientific Foundations and Practical Applications of Periodization is the first book of its kind designed to optimize sport performance by integrating both classic and modern periodization theories with recovery methodologies, nutritional interventions, and athlete monitoring guidelines. Written by G. Gregory Haff, a world-leading expert on periodization, Scientific Foundations and Practical Applications of Periodization incorporates the latest scientific evidence to provide a comprehensive understanding of how to implement planning and programming strategies to enhance physiological adaptations. While other periodization books may discuss training theory, few provide information on how to integrate various training models into the periodization process. Here are just some of the approaches incorporated into Scientific Foundations and Practical Applications of Periodization: Employing and blending parallel, sequential, and emphasis periodization models to develop athletes Syncing recovery strategies with various phases and periods of training to enhance the adaptational process Manipulating nutritional strategies to magnify performance Using and interpreting monitoring data to adjust an athlete’s program in accordance with the periodized plan Applicable for athletes at all levels and in any sport, Scientific Foundations and Practical Applications of Periodization translates the latest research into usable information that directly enhances programming. You will have access to real-world, practical examples and discussions of how to make scientifically sound programming decisions. A glossary of over 400 terms will help you digest the content. Plus, you will find periodization templates and directions on how to use them to create annual training, mesocycle, and microcycle plans. So it’s just her luck that she’s suddenly snowbound at a charming little inn with the hottest, yet down right grumpiest, man she’s ever met. And naturally, there’s only one room left. Now the pillow barrier between them keeps disappearing. And the walls are coming down. But Hope knows she doesn’t belong in Mitchell’s world any more than he belongs in hers. The question is whether either of them can trust the other long enough to play for keeps...
