Book Virtual Equivalent System Approach for Stability Analysis of Model based Control Systems

Download or read book Virtual Equivalent System Approach for Stability Analysis of Model based Control Systems written by Weicun Zhang and published by Springer Nature. This book was released on 2020-06-05 with total page 173 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book puts forward the concept of a virtual equivalent system (VES) based on theoretical analysis and simulation results. The new concept will facilitate the development of a unified framework for analyzing the stability and convergence of self-tuning control (STC) systems, and potentially, of all adaptive control systems. The book then shows that a time-varying STC system can be converted into a time-invariant system using a certain nonlinear compensation signal, which reduces the complexity and difficulty of stability and convergence analysis. In closing, the VES concept and methodology are used to assess the stability of multiple model adaptive control (MMAC) systems and T-S model-based fuzzy control systems.

Book Identification Adaptation Learning

Download or read book Identification Adaptation Learning written by Sergio Bittanti and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 1996-07-01 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book collects the lectures given at the NATO Advanced Study Institute From Identijication to Learning held in Villa Olmo, Como, Italy, from August 22 to September 2, 1994. The school was devoted to the themes of Identijication, Adaptation and Learning, as they are currently understood in the Information and Contral engineering community, their development in the last few decades, their inter connections and their applications. These titles describe challenging, exciting and rapidly growing research areas which are of interest both to contral and communication engineers and to statisticians and computer scientists. In accordance with the general goals of the Institute, and notwithstanding the rat her advanced level of the topics discussed, the presentations have been generally kept at a fairly tutorial level. For this reason this book should be valuable to a variety of rearchers and to graduate students interested in the general area of Control, Signals and Information Pracessing. As the goal of the school was to explore a common methodologicalline of reading the issues, the flavor is quite interdisciplinary. We regard this as an original and valuable feature of this book.

Book Adaptive and Learning Systems

Download or read book Adaptive and Learning Systems written by Kumpati S. Narendra and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-11-22 with total page 410 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume offers a glimpse of the status of research in adaptive and learning systems in 1985. In recent years these areas have spawned a multiplicity of ideas so rapidly that the average research worker or practicing engineer is overwhelmed by the flood of information. The Yale Workshop on Applications of Adaptive Systems Theory was organized in 1979 to provide a brief respite from this deluge, wherein critical issues may be examined in a calm and collegial environment. The fourth of the series having been held in May 1985, it has now become well established as a biennial forum for the lively exchange of ideas in the ever changing domain of adaptive systems. The scope of this book is broad and ranges from theoretical investigations to practical applications. It includes twenty eight papers by leaders in the field, selected from the Pro ceedings of the Fourth Yale Workshop and divided into five sections. I have provided a brief introduction to each section so that it can be read as a self-contained unit. The first section, devoted to adaptive control theory, suggests the intensity of activity in the field and reveals signs of convergence towards some common themes by workers with rather different moti vation. Preliminary results concerning the reduced order model problem are dramatically changing the way we view the field and bringing it closer to other areas such as robust linear control where major advances have been recently reported.
