Book excerpt: Cette thèse est une contribution à l'étude des tranferts par convection naturelle laminaire stationnaire dans une cavité contenant un ou plusieurs obstacles. A cet effet un code de calcul est développé permettant de résoudre les équations descriptives des mouvements (équations de conservation de la masse, de l'énergie, de la quantité de mouvement). Des simulations numériques sont effectuées sur quelques configurations bidimentionnelles. Une étude paramétrique systématique sur tous les paramètres définissant de telles géométries n'étant pas envisageable. Nous avons donc restreint notre travail à l'étude le l'influence de certains d'entre eux sur l'écoulement et le transfert thermique dans le cas de cavité remplie d'air (Pr = 0.71). Ainsi nous avons retenu le nombre de Rayleigh mais aussi la localisation de la plaque dans le cas d'une plaque à l'interieur d'une cavité carrée et l'espace libre au dessus des palques dans le cas d'une cavité de faible allongement contenant plusieurs plaques. Pour la plupart des ces configurations nous avons envisagé plusieurs combinaisons de conditions aux limites thermiques sur les plaques et les parois de la cavité. Pour ces différentes combinaisons de conditions aux limites thermiques (temprérature imposée au flux imposée), nous proposons dans le cas d'une plaque mince et verticale placée au centre d'une cavité carrée, des corrélations du nombre de Nusselt moyen calculé sur une face verticale de la plaque en fonction du nombre de Rayleigh évalué avec la hauteur de la plaque. Nous présentons les premiers résultats de simulation du couplage convection naturelle-rayonnement dans le cas d'une cavité isotherme emplie de CO2 et contenant une plaque isotherme, la tempréture de référence étant fixée à 600 K. Nous mettons en évidence l'effet non négligeable du rayonnement du gaz sur le champ de température dans le cas de ses simulations.
