Du point de vue technico-économique ils jouent un rôle primordial dans l'exploitation de certains réservoirs de pétrole. Du point de vue scientifique ils offrent l'opportunité de s'interroger sur le rôle conjoint des fractions volumiques et des propriétés interfaciales, des phases en présence, dans la modélisation d'une classe particulière de milieux hétérogènes. Issu des difficultés rencontrées dans l'exploitation des gisements de pétrole vietnamiens, le présent travail s'efforce de répondre principalement aux questions suivantes : où en est-on, aujourd'hui, dans les tentatives de modélisation des écoulements triphasiques en milieux poreux et notamment des lois constitutives : perméabilités relatives et pression capillaires ? Quel crédit peut-on accorder à ces lois ? Et enfin, quelle est l'incidence de leur mise en oeuvre dans la prédiction des écoulements ? Pour répondre à ces questions, un recensement et une analyse aussi exhaustifs que possible des lois de fermeture, proposées dans la littérature, ont tout d'abord été effectué. Puis ces lois ont été évaluées par comparaison avec des données expérimentales existantes. L'élaboration d'un code de calcul, destiné à la résolution du système d'équations triphasiques tridimensionnelles a ensuite permis d'apprécier la sensibilité des solutions à ces différentes lois. Dans un premier temps ce code a été exploité dans une version unidimensionnelle, les résultats des simulations étant alors comparés à des résultats d'expériences effectués en laboratoire, puis dans sa version intégrale pour estimer l'influence des différentes lois sur l'historique de production d'un gisement réel.
