Book excerpt: L’objectif de ce travail de thèse est de caractériser les propriétés mécaniques et analyser les mécanismes d’endommagement des alliages de cuivre à durcissement structural Cu-Ni-Si qui peuvent être utilisés dans la construction des cages d’écureuil des moteurs asynchrones. Une attention particulière est attachée à l’influence de l’exposition en température associée à la zone affectée thermiquement lors du brasage. Cette exposition provoque essentiellement une évolution de l’état de précipitation, qui est étudiée par MET. Dans l’alliage Cu-Ni-Si nous observons une augmentation de la taille des précipités Ni2Si, alors que l’état de précipitation évolue de façon plus complexe dans l’alliage Cu-Cr-Zr. Le comportement sous traction à rupture à différentes températures avec différentes vitesses de sollicitation a été étudié pour les deux alliages sous différents états. Le résultat montre que Cu-Ni-Si à l’état de réception présente un comportement anormal typique de la fragilisation dynamique avec une rupture fragile intergranulaire. Ce phénomène de fragilisation dynamique disparaît lorsque le matériau subit une exposition en température conduisant à un état “ sur-revenu ”. il n’apparaît pas non plus dans Cu-Cr-Zr. Nous avons dérivé de la littérature un modèle fondé sur la ségrégation intergranulaire d’un élément fragilisant. Celui-ci nous permet d’expliquer l’ensemble des résultats de façon qualitative ou quantitative. L’intervention de la fragilisation dynamique est aussi mise en évidence sous chargement cyclique pour Cu-Ni-Si. Dans ce cas, la contrainte moyenne positive joue le même rôle que celui de la contrainte de traction et chargement monotone
