CES DEUX POLYMERES ONT ETE SYNTHETISES PAR VOIE ELECTROCHIMIQUE DANS UN MILIEU AQUEUX HCL 1M ET ETUDIES PAR DIFFERENTES TECHNIQUES DE SPECTROSCOPIE TELLES QUE L'ABSORPTION OPTIQUE, LA DIFFUSION RAMAN RESONNANTE ET L'ABSORPTION INFRAROUGE. L'ETUDE DE LA POLYANILINE EST PRESENTEE EN DEUX PARTIES: D'UNE PART L'ANALYSE VIBRATIONNELLE DE L'EMERALDINE DEPROTONEE, ET D'AUTRE PART L'ETUDE SPECTROELECTROCHIMIQUE IN SITU EN MILIEU AQUEUX ET EN MILIEU NON AQUEUX. TOUTES LES LONGUEURS D'ONDE D'EXCITATION, DU PROCHE UV AU PROCHE INFRAROUGE ONT ETE UTILISEES ET LES RESULTATS OBTENUS EN DIFFUSION RAMAN METTENT EN EVIDENCE DES STRUCTURES REDUITES, SEMI-OXYDEES ET OXYDEES. LE COUPLAGE DU DOPAGE ELECTROCHIMIQUE AUX MESURES IN SITU D'ABSORPTION OPTIQUE ET DE DIFFUSION RAMAN ONT REVELE DES RESULTATS INTERESSANTS DONT L'INTERPRETATION A ETE FAITE EN FONCTION DU MECANISME OXYDOREDUCTEUR DANS LA POLYANILINE. NOUS AVONS PU METTRE EN EVIDENCE LE FAIT QUE LA NATURE DU MILIEU ELECTROLYTIQUE INFLUE CONSIDERABLEMENT SUR LA VOLTAMETRIE CYCLIQUE DE LA POLYANILINE. LES MESURES RAMAN IN SITU DANS DES ELECTROLYTES NON AQUEUX PERMETTENT D'ALLER JUSQU'A LA FORME TOTALEMENT OXYDEE: LA PERNIGRANILINE BASE. LA LONGUEUR D'ONDE D'EXCITATION 1064 NM S'EST REVELEE EXTREMEMENT SENSIBLE A L'EXISTENCE DE SEGMENTS PROTONES ET A PERMIS DE SUIVRE DIRECTEMENT LE PROCESSUS DE DEPROTONATION AU COURS DE LA DEUXIEME PHASE D'OXYDATION. ENFIN, NOUS NOUS SOMMES INTERESSE A DES POLYMERES DERIVES DE LA POLYANILINE: LE POLY(O-TOLUIDINE) ET LE POLY(ETHYLANILINE). SUR CES DEUX COMPOSES, DES ETUDES SIMILAIRES ONT ETE REALISEES. LA SUBSTITUTION SUR LE CYCLE A EU POUR EFFET D'ABAISSER LE POTENTIEL RELATIF A LA SECONDE VAGUE D'OXYDATION ET DE FAIRE APPARAITRE DE NOUVELLES BANDES RAMAN, DONT NOUS PROPOSONS UNE INTERPRETATION. PAR AILLEURS, NOS RESULTATS PERMETTENT D'APPORTER UNE INTERPRETATION QUALITATIVE DES SPECTRES D'ABSORPTION INFRAROUGE PHOTO INDUITE OBTENUES SUR LES MEMES COMPOSES. DANS TOUS LES POLYMERES DE CETTE FAMILLE, LES SIMULATIONS DE SPECTRES ONT CONDUIT A L'ETABLISSEMENT D'UN CHAMP DE FORCE COMPLET ET A L'ATTRIBUTION DE TOUS LES MODES DE VIBRATION

Book Principles of Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy

Download or read book Principles of Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy written by Shaul Mukamel and published by Oxford University Press on Demand. This book was released on 1999 with total page 543 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This textbook presents a systematic and unifying viewpoint for a wide class of nonlinear spectroscopic techniques in time domain and frequency domain. It is directed towards active researchers in physics, optics, chemistry, and materials science, as well as graduate students who enter this complex and rapidly developing field. Nonlinear optical interactions of laser fields with matter provide powerful spectroscopic tools for the understanding of microscopic interactions and dynamic processes. One of the major obstacles facing researchers in this field, however, is the flood of experimental techniques and terminologies, which create a serious language barrier. The general microscopic correlation function approach to the nonlinear optical response developed in this book is essential for understanding the relationships among different techniques and a comparison of their information content, the design of new measurements, and for a systematic comparison of the optical response of different systems such as dyes in solutions, atoms and molecules in the gas phase, liquids, molecular aggregates and superlatives, and semiconductor nanostructures. The approach is based on formulating the nonlinear response by representing the state of matter by the density matrix and following its evolution on Liouville space. Current active research areas such as femtosecond time-domain techniques, semi-classical and wave-packet dynamics, pulse shaping, pulse locking, exciton confinement, and the interplay of electronic, nuclear and field coherence are emphasized. The material has been developed from the author's highly successful interdisciplinary course at the University of Rochester attended by science and engineering graduate students.

Book Uranium Enrichment and Nuclear Weapon Proliferation

Download or read book Uranium Enrichment and Nuclear Weapon Proliferation written by Allan S. Krass and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-11-20 with total page 325 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Originally published in 1983, this book presents both the technical and political information necessary to evaluate the emerging threat to world security posed by recent advances in uranium enrichment technology. Uranium enrichment has played a relatively quiet but important role in the history of efforts by a number of nations to acquire nuclear weapons and by a number of others to prevent the proliferation of nuclear weapons. For many years the uranium enrichment industry was dominated by a single method, gaseous diffusion, which was technically complex, extremely capital-intensive, and highly inefficient in its use of energy. As long as this remained true, only the richest and most technically advanced nations could afford to pursue the enrichment route to weapon acquisition. But during the 1970s this situation changed dramatically. Several new and far more accessible enrichment techniques were developed, stimulated largely by the anticipation of a rapidly growing demand for enrichment services by the world-wide nuclear power industry. This proliferation of new techniques, coupled with the subsequent contraction of the commercial market for enriched uranium, has created a situation in which uranium enrichment technology might well become the most important contributor to further nuclear weapon proliferation. Some of the issues addressed in this book are: A technical analysis of the most important enrichment techniques in a form that is relevant to analysis of proliferation risks; A detailed projection of the world demand for uranium enrichment services; A summary and critique of present institutional non-proliferation arrangements in the world enrichment industry, and An identification of the states most likely to pursue the enrichment route to acquisition of nuclear weapons.
