Nous effectuons l'étude mathématique complète des différents modèles que nous proposons. Nous illustrons notre approche par de nombreux exemples. Dans la troisième et dernière partie de cette thèse, nous nous intéressons spécifiquement à la composante texturée. Nous proposons un algorithme de classification supervisée pour les images texturées.

Au chapitre 1, nous présentons les questions essentielles que nous traiterons dans cette thèse, puis on fait des rappels sur les définitions et quelques propriétés d'espace des fonctions à variations bornées BV , l'espace d'Orlicz et le modèle de Frenkel-Kontorova. Au chapitre 2, nous montrons que les problèmes de minimisation non convexe (restauration d'image) contenant des termes de régularisation sous-linéaires sont mal posés. Au chapitre 3, nous étudions un modèle de restauration avec un terme de régularisation à croissance non standard, proposé par Blomgren et al. : le module du gradient est élevé a une puissance qui dépend elle même du gradient. On montre qu'elle est semi-continue inférieurement pour la topologie faible d'un certain espace d'Orlicz-Sobolev qui lui est associé, ce qui permet un résultat d'existence de la solution. Texture is a homogeneous visual pattern that we perceive in surfaces of objects such as textiles, tree barks or stones. Texture analysis is one of the first important steps in computer vision since texture provides important cues to recognize real-world objects. A major part of the book is devoted to two-dimensional analysis of texture patterns by extracting statistical and structural features. It also deals with the shape-from-texture problem which addresses recovery of the three-dimensional surface shapes based on the geometry of projection of the surface texture to the image plane. Perception is still largely mysterious. Realizing a computer vision system that can work in the real world requires more research and ex periment. Capability of textural perception is a key component. Les EDPs et les méthodes variationnelles ont montré leur efficacité comme outils pour la résolution d'un grand nombre de problèmes inverses en imagerie, notamment pour le débruitage, la restauration d'images et de vidéos, l'inpainting d'images, la segmentation d'images, etc. Récemment, beaucoup de ces méthodes ont été étendues sous formulation non-locale. Cependant, ces méthodes sont utilisées pour le traitement d'images ou de vidéos sur des espaces euclidiens où la discrétisation se fait sur des grilles régulières. Dans cette thèse, nous proposons une nouvelle approche de résolution et d'adaptation d'EDPs sur des nuages de points 3D ou des surfaces: celle-ci est basée sur la représentation de nuages de points par des graphes pondérés et sur le cadre des Équations aux différences Partielles (EdPs). Cette approche ne nécessite aucun prétraitement préalable de nuages de points, de plus elle permet naturellement d'étendre et d'adapter les EDPs sous une formulation non-locale en changeant uniquement la topologie du graphe.

Book excerpt: This thesis is devoted to two recent image denoising models: the TVL 1 model, whose functional is the sum of the total variation and an L fidelity term, and the Non Local Means. ln the first part, we study the connections between the TVL 1 model and mathematical morphology. We show that for a special class of images, TVL 1 amounts to an opening followed by a thresholding. We compare the model with the TV+G model for cartoon-texture decomposition and we show that it does not suffer from the same limitations. Moreover, we study a spatially adaptive extension, as weil as an anisotropie extension. ln the second part, we study the properties of the Non-Local Means and we propose two variants based on Stein's estimation of the risk (SURE). These two variants notably improve the visu al quality of the produced images.

In chapter 1, after recalling some notions and basic results on image analysis, we present the essential questions that we will treat in the thesis. In chapter 2, we show that minimization problems involving sublinear regularizing terms are ill-posed, in general, although numerical experiments in image processing give very good results. We give a new approach to perform minimization via the Chambolle's algorithm. In chapter 3, we propose an extension of the TV: weighted total variation and extended total variation. Furthermore, we provide an algorothm to perform minimization via the Chambolle's algorithm. In chapter 4 we study a model of restoration and decomposition via nonstandard diffusion. We present a class of nonstandard increasing strictly convex regularization terms, which allows both, existence and uniqueness results. Before closing this chapter effective algorithms, based on projection method, are proposed in the case of scalar and vectorial images. Finally, in the part conclusion and perspectives, we present a restoration model with local constraints. This model was studied by Caselles et al. to remedy the fact that the removed noise by the classical methods contains geometrical information.

In many cases useful information and high quality must be extracted from the imaging. However, often raw signals are not directly suitable for this purpose and must be processed in some way. Such processing is called signal reconstruction. This book is devoted to a recent and original approach to signal reconstruction based on combining two independent ideas: local polynomial approximation and the intersection of confidence interval rule.
