Book excerpt: Les dernières tendances du monde industriel automobile sont à l'origine du remplacement progressif des systèmes mécaniques traditionnels par des systèmes mécatroniques. La forte compétition économique ainsi que les contraintes du marché nécessitent une réduction des temps de développement. Cette réduction est aujourd'hui possible grâce à l'utilisation de l'outil informatique et de la simulation dans le processus de conception. Cependant, l'intégration de cet outil ne peut être réussie sans le développement de méthodologies de modélisation et de simulation visant à améliorer la compréhension du comportement des systèmes pour les auteurs des modèles et les différents acteurs du processus de conception. Une stratégie de modélisation, basée sur une librairie d'éléments de base dont les combinaisons permettent de reconstruire la plupart des situations à affronter dans le domaine hydraulique des boîtes de vitesses automatiques est utilisée. Une attention particulière est apportée aux organes prenant part au fonctionnement du distributeur hydraulique de commande. Des modèles de complexité croissante permettant de répondre à différents types de questions sont proposés. Ils permettent de choisir les niveaux d'hypothèses juste suffisants pour comprendre et reproduire le comportement dynamique du système de régulation du distributeur hydraulique.

Une approche mécatronique de ce système a permis de définir des lois de commande dont le but est d'améliorer cette qualité. Tout d'abord, une modélisation de la chaîne cinématique du véhicule est faite, en utilisant le formalisme bond-graph. Ensuite, un modèle simplifie non-linéaire de la boîte de vitesses permet de rechercher des commandes en non-linéaire : commande par découplage-linéarisation, commande par modes glissants, que l'on applique sur le modèle complet. Les simulations réalisées sont comparées à des essais réels et montrent de bons résultats. Enfin, des études énergétiques et de robustesse des commandes sont effectuées avant de passer à la partie pratique. Une réalisation pratique sur véhicule est faite : la boite de vitesses étudiée a été équipée d'un distributeur hydraulique et d'actionneurs spécifiques et un calculateur a été élaboré pour pouvoir appliquer les commandes trouvées en théorie.
