De ces caractéristiques découle la difficulté à concevoir et analyser des algorithmes distribués garantissant certaines propriétés. C'est sur ce point que porte la contribution majeure de cette thèse. Pour amorcer cette étude, nous avons étudié quelques problèmes fondamentaux de l'algorithmique distribuée dans ce type d'environnement. Du fait de la nature de ces réseaux, nous avons considéré des modèles de calculs, où chaque étape ne fait collaborer que des noeuds directement voisins. Nous avons notamment proposé un nouveau cadre d'analyse, combinant réétiquetages de graphes dynamiques et graphes évolutifs (modèle combinatoire pour els réseaux dynamiques). Notre approche permet de caractériser les conditions d'un succès ou d'échec d'un algorithme en fonction de la dynamique du réseau, autrement dit, en fonction de conditions nécessaires et/ou suffisantes sur les graphes évolutifs correspondants. Nous avons également étudié la synchronisation sou-jacente aux calculs, ainsi que la manière dont une application réelle peut reposer sur un algorithme de réétiquetage. Un certain nombre de logiciels ont également été réalisés autour de ces travaux, notamment un simulateur de réétiquetage de graphes dynamiques et un vérificateur de propriétés sur les graphes évolutifs.

Les réseaux ad hoc sont auto-organisés en permettant des échanges directs entre nœuds mobiles et ne reposent sur aucune infrastructure. Chaque nœud peut se déplacer librement et indépendamment des autres impliquant une modification perpétuelle de la topologie. Dans ce contexte, la probabilité que des défaillances surviennent dans le réseau est importante. Ces défaillances gênent le bon fonctionnement du réseau et peuvent même entrainer une paralysie de celui-ci. C'est pourquoi la conception de solutions pour de tels réseaux nécessitent des mécanismes de gestion de fautes. Parmi ceux-ci, l'approche d'auto-stabilisation permet à un système de gérer les fautes transitoires. Nous étendons cette approche pour répondre aux principaux problèmes liés à la mobilité des nœuds. Notre objectif est de répondre à un double besoin d'auto-organisation du réseau et d'optimisation du nombre de messages échangés. Notre approche consiste à découper le réseau en clusters afin de lui donner une structure hiérarchique. Cette dernière rend l'utilisation du réseau plus efficace et plus performante. L'algorithme que nous avons développé à cet effet est auto-stabilisant et n'est basé que sur des connaissances locales. Nous exploitons cette solution pour proposer deux utilisations efficaces : la diffusion d'informations dans le réseau et le routage. La diffusion d'informations exploite un arbre couvrant inter-clusters, construit sans surcoût, en parallèle de la clusterisation. Le routage quant à lui exploite cet arbre pour permettre à la fois d'optimiser le délai de bout en bout et le nombre de messages échangés.

Book excerpt: THIS thesis presents some contributions in the field of distributed computing, a major theme in theoretical computer sciences. More precisely, we are concerned with distributed prime numbers generation, as well as designing algorithms (protocols) dedicated to checking the sensor wireless networks's topology and to control their access to a shared physical channel of transmission. Number theory is composed of several subdomains of research which all have in common the study of the properties and relations between numbers in the studied classes. Since the development of cryptographic protocols using prime numbers, a particular and growing interest has been devoted to the computational number theory. Another recent fact that stood out in the community of theoretical computer sciences, was the proof that primality is in P [AKS02]. In the present, we aim at generating distributively all primes in any given interval. In the field of ad-hoc networks, we are interested in protocols intended for sensor wireless networks. Nowadays, such networks are very studied. This is due to the importance of their potential in real-life situations : from forest fire de-tection to the deployment of the same kind of network in a place without any infrastructure during a disaster, for example. We introduce a new Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) protocol, which consists in a completely distributed algorithm that assigns a code to every station of the network.

Cette thèse propose des algorithmes permettant la mise en place d'un système de partage de données sur MANet : - un algorithme de création de grappes de terminaux mobiles stables dans le temps, qui présente l'avantage de ne pas utiliser de ressources réseaux (utilisation informations inter-couches). - un algorithme de réplication de données pro-actif, qui maintien un nombre de répliques k proportionnel au nombre de terminaux présents et les place sur les terminaux les plus susceptibles de les utiliser. Cela augmente la disponibilité et la fiabilité du service. - un algorithme de gestion de cache, qui maintient le nombre de répliques au minimum permettant un usage efficace du réseau et offrant une bonne disponibilité. D'une part, il élimine les données utilisées le moins récemment et dont le nombre de répliques est supérieur à k. D'autre part, il diminue la charge réseau en éliminant les répliques de données non utilisées par leur hôte.

Book excerpt: Les protocoles de routage pour réseaux ad hoc actuels supposent l'absence totale de participants malveillants, alors que cette hypothèse est souvent contredite dans les applications. Nous avons cherché à enrichir les protocoles dits proactifs pour permettre aux nœuds de surveiller le réseau de manière distribuée et de mesurer la menace représentée par chacun des autres nœuds. Cette mesure sert à extraire une métrique de qualité de service utilisée ensuite par le protocole de routage pour contourner les nœuds les plus suspects d'après les différentes méthodes de détection utilisées. Nous proposons de détecter la perte de paquets de données, intentionnelle ou non. La détection est réalisée par une vérification distribuée du principe de conservation de flot, basée sur l'échange de compteurs de paquets entre voisins. Nous proposons également une méthode de diffusion de ces valeurs qui permet un meilleur passage à l'échelle. Cette détection ne sert qu'à maintenir un degré de suspicion local qui, une fois diffusé à tout le réseau et recombiné par les autres nœud, produit une métrique de suspicion globale envers chaque nœud. L'application au protocole OLSR est décrite et ses performances évaluées par simulation. Nous montrons que la solution est efficace et que l'impact du surcoût de contrôle sur la capacité du médium reste faible. Nous présentons enfin une plateforme expérimentale du protocole OLSR avec qualité de service et sécurité, servant à faire fonctionner nos solutions dans des mises en place réelles pour déceler les problèmes qui apparaissent lors de l'utilisation de matériel grand public.
