Franck Laloë was a researcher at the Kastler-Brossel laboratory of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris. His first assignment was with the University of Paris VI before he was appointed to the CNRS, the French National Research Center. His research was focused on optical pumping, statistical mechanics of quantum gases, musical acoustics and the foundations of quantum mechanics.

In many cases useful information and high quality must be extracted from the imaging. However, often raw signals are not directly suitable for this purpose and must be processed in some way. Such processing is called signal reconstruction. This book is devoted to a recent and original approach to signal reconstruction based on combining two independent ideas: local polynomial approximation and the intersection of confidence interval rule.

To that purpose, we present all major concepts relevant to this life cycle, formulated in terms of a common and unifying ground: the property graph data model—the pre-dominant data model adopted by modern graph database systems. We aim especially to give a coherent and in-depth perspective on current graph querying and an outlook for future developments.
