Book Self Tuning Systems

Download or read book Self Tuning Systems written by P. E. Wellstead and published by Chichester, West Sussex, England ; New York : Wiley. This book was released on 1991 with total page 616 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Geared to the users' needs, this work provides comprehensive coverage of the main techniques and methods necessary to construct a self-tuning and self-adaptive system. Eliminating a lot of theoretical rigor, it provides the reader with a fundamental understanding of basic algorithms and techniques useful in self-tuning control and signal processing. Every aspect of adaptive engineering is thoroughly covered including extensive descriptions of applications, commercial instruments and current research. Besides offering sections on advanced and detailed topics, the book provides a wide selection of tutorial problems that will aid and stimulate the reader.

Book Robust Hybrid State Space Self Tuning Control Using Dual Rate Sampling

Download or read book Robust Hybrid State Space Self Tuning Control Using Dual Rate Sampling written by and published by . This book was released on 1994 with total page 10 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report presents a hybrid state-space self-tuner using a new dual-rate sampling scheme for digital adaptive control of continuous-time uncertain linear systems. A state-space-based recursive least-squares algorithm, together with a variable forgetting factor, is used for direct estimation of both the equivalent discrete-time uncertain linear system parameters and associated discrete-time state of a continuous-time uncertain linear system from the sampled input and output data. An analog optimal regional pole-placement design method is used for designing an optimal observer-based analoque controller. A sub-optimal observer-based digital controller is then designed from the designed analoque controller using digital redesign technique. To enhance the robustness of parameter identification and state estimation algorithms, a dynamic bound for a class of uncertain bilinear parameters and a fast-rate digital controller are developed at each fast-sampling period. Also, to accommodate computation loads and computation delay for developing the advance hybrid self-tuner, the designed analoque controller and observer gains are both updated at each slow-sampling period. This control technique has been successfully applied to benchmark control problems.

Book Implementation of Self tuning Controllers

Download or read book Implementation of Self tuning Controllers written by and published by . This book was released on 1988 with total page pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book has 13 chapters. The first chapter of this book not only provides an overview of the scope and generality provided by self-tuning control schemes, but also indicates where such a scheme might be of benefit and how it complements and augments other control techniques. Chapters 2-5 discuss the basic ideas behind self-tuning control techniques; identification/ parameter estimation (chapter 2), optimal controller design (chapter 3), numerical considerations (chapter 4) and simplified methods (chapter 5). Chapters 6-9 discuss advances in the framework employed for self-tuning control; the delta operator (chapter 6), continuous-time control (chapter 7), software aspects (chapter 8) and predictive control (chapter 9). Chapters 10-13 are concerned with detailed application examples of; predictive control (chapter 10), PIP control (chapter 11), LQG optimal control (chapter 12) and various SISO/MIMO case studies (chapter 13)

Book Identification of Continuous Time Systems

Download or read book Identification of Continuous Time Systems written by N.K. Sinha and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 641 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In view of the importance of system identification, the International Federation of Automatic Control (IFAC) and the International Federation of Operational Research Societies (IFORS) hold symposia on this topic every three years. Interest in continuous time approaches to system identification has been growing in recent years. This is evident from the fact that the of invited sessions on continuous time systems has increased from one in the 8th number Symposium that was held in Beijing in 1988 to three in the 9th Symposium in Budapest in 1991. It was during the 8th Symposium in August 1988 that the idea of bringing together important results on the topic of Identification of continuous time systems was conceived. Several distinguished colleagues, who were with us in Beijing at that time, encouraged us by promising on the spot to contribute to a comprehensive volume of collective work. Subsequently, we contacted colleagues all over the world, known for their work in this area, with a formal request to contribute to the proposed volume. The response was prompt and overwhelmingly encouraging. We sincerely thank all the authors for their valuable contributions covering various aspects of identification of continuous time systems.
