Book Continuation of the Investigation of Multi frequency Radar Reflectivity and Radar Target Identification

Download or read book Continuation of the Investigation of Multi frequency Radar Reflectivity and Radar Target Identification written by D. L. Moffatt and published by . This book was released on 1975 with total page 38 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This report summarizes research during the period July 1, 1974 to June 30, 1975 under the contract on two technical objectives of the Air Force: improved detection and discrimination of radar targets and reduction of nonspecular scattering by wing geometries. The report is contained in two main sections. The first section outlines methods for deducing the complex natural resonances of arbitrary radar targets and the use of these resonances via predictor-correlator processing for detection and discrimination. Illustrative examples of both natural resonance extraction and discrimination are given for aircraft targets. The second section of the report summarizes the analysis of a loaded two-dimensional wind model for horizontal polarization. Hybrid techniques combining moment methods and the geometrical theory of diffraction are used and the loading consists of surface impedance patches. Examples of reduction of the nonspecular cross section are given. A 'folded dipole' like antenna is used as an alternate mechanism for controlling edge diffracted fields.

Book Continuation of the Investigation of the Multi Frequency Radar Reflectivity of Radar Target Identification

Download or read book Continuation of the Investigation of the Multi Frequency Radar Reflectivity of Radar Target Identification written by C. D. Chuang and published by . This book was released on 1977 with total page 57 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Research on Contract No. F19628-72-C-0203 during the period 10 April 1972 to 30 September 1976 is summarized. Two subjects of significance to the Air Force, radar target identification and control of nonspecular scattering, have been studied. Progress in each area has been described in a series of Scientific Reports. These results are briefly summarized. More recent efforts, not yet completed, are discussed in more detail. Conclusions and recommendations for future research and implementation are made. (Author).

Book Radar Systems Analysis and Design Using MATLAB

Download or read book Radar Systems Analysis and Design Using MATLAB written by Bassem R. Mahafza and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2022-03-29 with total page 612 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The first edition of this ground-breaking and widely used book introduced a comprehensive textbook on radar systems analysis and design providing hands-on experience facilitated by its companion MATLAB® software. The book very quickly turned into a bestseller. Based on feedback provided by several users and drawing from the author's own teaching experience, the 4th edition adopts a new approach. The presentation in this edition takes the reader on a scientific journey whose major landmarks comprise the different radar sub-systems and components. Along the way, the different relevant radar subsystems are analyzed and discussed in great level of detail. Understanding the radar signal types and their associated radar signal processing techniques are key to understating how radar systems function. Each chapter provides the necessary mathematical and analytical coverage required for a sound understanding of radar theory. Additionally, dedicated MATLAB® functions/programs enhance the understanding of the theory and establish a means to perform radar system analysis and design trades. The software provides users with numerous varieties of graphical outputs. Additionally, a complete set of MATLAB® code that generates all plot and graphs found within the pages of this textbook are also available. All companion MATLAB® code can be downloaded from the book’s web page. The 4th Edition: •Takes advantage of the new features offered by MATLAB® 2021 release •Brings the text to a current state of the art •Incorporates much of the feedback received from users using this book as a text and from practicing engineers; accordingly, several chapters have been rewritten •Presents unique topics not found in other books •Maintains a comprehensive and exhaustive presentation •Restructures the presentation to be more convenient for course use. •Provides a post-course reference for engineering students as they enter the field •Offers a companion solutions manual for instructors The 4th edition will serve as a valuable tool to students and radar engineers by helping them better analyze and understand the many topics of radar systems. This book is written primarily as a graduate-level textbook, although parts of it can be used as a senior level course. A companion solutions manual has been developed for use by instructors.
