D'autres animaux, comme le caïman, sont également entourés d'un vrai culte au Madagascar, car longtemps il était vénéré comme un ancêtre totémique de quelques tribus et aujourd'hui encore, on continue à croire que les humains peuvent se transformer en caïmans après leur mort s'ils le souhaitent, ainsi que se marier avec les représentants de cette charmante espèce.
