Book excerpt: "Dark Night" affects us all at some point in our lives. The Star of David comes in our help to illuminate and reveal through the works of St. John of the Cross the meaning and purpose of such darkness. Using simple geometry we will travel across different phases of the spiritual journey to realize that suffering and pain is part of a deeper, natural purification process to strip the soul and transform the individual into his authentic "self". In this book we use very simple concepts and traces for those who want to revisit their faith through the works of the saint, but also for anyone interested in his own personal development as a good individual. If we learn to accept our suffering and darkness, not only we move forward in our spiritual path but also will dare to suffer for others and transcend our spiritual comfort. The script and the scene. The spiritual path, like any classical play, has several parts with a beginning, a development and the end. After some introductory chapters on the work, influences and historical context of the author (Chapters 1 to 3), we will raise the curtain in Chapter 4 where the lower triangle (our soul) appears as the Mount of the Ascent. In Chapter 5 we raise the curtain a little more to introduce the new actor, the upper Trinitarian triangle. The Spirit, vertex-arrow directed towards the center of man's soul will be the protagonist in next stage (Chapter 6). When the vertexes of both triangles (divine and human realities) contact, the dark passive night of senses begins, followed by the frightful passive night of spirit with the intersection and advance of the space invaded in a growing rhomboid area. To better ground our model we contrast it with what Fray John says about the soul as a vessel of infinite capacity (Chapter 7). The advance of the Spirit in different facets (dark light, touch and breath) widens the intersected area (Chapter 8). When the divinity completely permeates the soul, appropriating its substance and transforming it into a fusion of wills, both triangles form a Star of David (Chapter 9). This sketch of love symbolizes the spiritual betrothal. The geometry of intertwining realities becomes a hexagonal secret garden, where the wine of the wedding and the honey of the marriage will be tasted. It is the object of Chapter 10 where we conclude our spiritual journey with John of the Cross. Our model thus reproduces the saint's invitation to a theological life of growth of the virtues. If man perseveres emptying himself he will gradually permeate his life and will end up illuminating what was night, allowing him to discover a treasure in the depths of his soul

Book Path of Souls

Download or read book Path of Souls written by Gregory Little and published by Archetype Books. This book was released on 2014-06-14 with total page 260 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: America's ancient Mound Builders left behind thousands of pyramid-shaped and conical burial mounds, complex geometric earthworks, effigy mounds, and incredible artifacts depicting mysterious symbols. When the first European explorers began reporting their discovery of these enigmatic structures (over 400 years ago) no one knew who built them. No one seemed to know the meaning of the symbols, and the ritualistic purposes of the complex geometric earthen shapes were a complete mystery. That forgotten knowledge is explained by the decimation of Native American populations by explorers and gold-seeking Spanish conquistadores. Within a generation after the Spanish entered America, Native American populations decreased by over 90 percent from disease and war. It is now known that many ancient earthworks were used to assist souls of the dead in their journey to the sky world and the mysterious symbols were used in rituals by an elite ruling class of priests and chiefs. Souls journeyed to the west where they made a leap of faith to the sky. The souls then made a journey along the Milky Way until they reached the most important spot on the path. This was at the Great Rift of the Milky Way, where they encountered an enigmatic Adversary located at the Constellation of Cygnus. Path of Souls details this amazing death journey and how it was revealed in recent times by archaeologists. It is also thought that the newly revealed Native American death journey explains much about ancient Egyptian ideas of death. Where did these ideas about the death journey come from and when did they arrive in America? Who were the elite rulers of the Mound Builders? Hundreds of newspaper articles from the 1800s and early 1900s reported giant skeletons found in large stone tombs buried deep inside burial mounds. Were these tall leaders the elite? Today the Smithsonian asserts that there we no giants in the ancient world but in their actual published mound excavation reports, they detailed the discovery of many skeletons at least seven feet tall. Path of Souls explores all of these issues and is lavishly illustrated with over 150 maps, photos, and illustrations.

Book The Language of the Soul

Download or read book The Language of the Soul written by John L. Payne and published by Simon and Schuster. This book was released on 2015-03-19 with total page 204 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Enriched by numerous case studies and years of client experience, this book guides readers to move beyond the tangled web of stories they tell themselves and others about their lives, relationships, illnesses, and disruptive life patterns. Step-by-step, the chapters uncover the origins of behaviors and feelings such as drug or alcohol addiction, failed careers, and depression. Hidden loyalties to people and ideas are introduced as the underlying causes of these obstacles, which cloud the path to success and cause people to believe the stories they tell themselves, eventually losing touch with the truth. Through the examples in this book, readers will learn to acknowledge and embrace truth, spelling out the explicit facts and rejecting the fictions they have created to excuse their failings.

Book Looking Into the Souls of Children

Download or read book Looking Into the Souls of Children written by Bert Hellinger and published by . This book was released on 2014-04 with total page 306 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: "Looking Into the Souls of Children" is a profound demonstration of the later systemic family constellations by their pioneer, Bert Hellinger. This book tells many stories, all directly taken from life as it is: greater than we imagine it. They are stories about children who discover a hidden treasure in their soul, a treasure that brings peace to them and to their parents, and thus to all readers - themselves children to parents, parents to children. Bert Hellinger brings these treasures to sudden light while the children, their parents, and their teachers watch their "constellations" unfold. Some of what emerges is understood immediately, a treasure glistening in their hands. Other movements will take shape over time, treasures unearthed, facets yet to be polished. Each story stands on its own; each treasure lights a hidden depth. This book reveals an unfolding not just of the clients' stories, but also of Hellinger's body of work itself. His eye now trained on what he calls Mystic Consciousness, the vast outer layers beyond common awareness, he moves with clarity among life's uncertainties. Introduction by Bert Hellinger: "This book tells you stories, true stories. We can read them as stories through which we can look into our soul, into our own child-soul, and into the souls of our children. We can even read these stories to our children, but only one at a time. Older children can read the stories by themselves and gain a kind of understanding of their own souls that brings them a sense of relief. Finally they can see a way out for themselves, and the same goes for us, for us personally and for our children. "How do we read this book? Perhaps in a way that liberates us, taking us beyond our fears and our concerns to discover whether we and our children are on the right path. "We look into our soul and we breathe a sigh of relief. Opening up to these stories, letting them take us along, what is the result? "We comprehend: all children are good, and the same is true of us, provided we look into our soul with love."

Book Even If it Costs Me My Life

Download or read book Even If it Costs Me My Life written by Stephan Hausner and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2015-06-03 with total page 363 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Family constellations work has broadened and developed in many different fields as a method of counseling and therapy. In addition to constellations in organizations and schools, applying this approach to working with illness and disease has expanded the potential for healing effects in the field of medicine as well. A view of transgenerational entanglements and family dynamics casts a new light on health and disease, and the insights gained from constellations with illness and health problems have led to a more holistic view of those who are ill. In Even if it Costs me my Life, Stephan Hausner aims to provide a picture of the healing potential of systemic constellations, entering into the reciprocal effects of family dynamics and illness. Extensive use of case studies demonstrates this technique in action, revealing how existing illnesses and pathologies are rooted within the family dynamic, and setting up healing postures to facilitate growth, development, and direction.
