Download or read book Design Strategies for Efficient and Sustainable Building Facilities written by González-Lezcano, Roberto Alonso and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2024-08-05 with total page 587 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Despite the growing emphasis on energy efficiency in building design, our indoor environments often fall short of providing optimal conditions for health and well-being. Indoor air quality, temperature, and lighting levels play crucial roles in occupant health, yet they are frequently overlooked in building practices. This oversight leads to environments that can harm health, contributing to respiratory problems, allergies, and reduced productivity. Design Strategies for Efficient and Sustainable Building Facilities offers a comprehensive solution. We delve into recent advances in building design, construction, and operation that prioritize energy efficiency and occupant health. By incorporating intelligent sensors, automation systems, and renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, buildings can be transformed into healthy, sustainable spaces that promote well-being. This book is tailored for researchers, professionals, university professors, and master's and doctoral students who seek to advance sustainable building practices.
Download or read book La conservaci n preventiva durante la exposici n de dibujos y pinturas sobre lienzo written by Reyes Jiménez de Garnica and published by . This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 104 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.
Download or read book La conservaci n preventiva de bienes culturales written by Isabel García Fernández and published by . This book was released on 2013-12 with total page 304 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Download or read book LA CONSERVACION PREVENTIVA DURANTE LA EXPOSICION DE ESCULTURAS EN PIEDRA written by Sonia Tortajada Hernando and published by . This book was released on 2011-03 with total page 68 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book excerpt: This book tells a story to shake the conscience of the world. It is the catalogue of the first-ever traveling exhibition about the Auschwitz concentration camp, where 1.1 million people—mostly Jews, but also non-Jewish Poles, Roma, and others—lost their lives. More than 280 objects and images from the exhibition are illustrated herein. Drawn from the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum and other collections around the world, they range from the intimate (such as victims’ family snapshots and personal belongings) to the immense (an actual surviving barrack from the Auschwitz III–Monowitz satellite camp); all are eloquent in their testimony. An authoritative yet accessible text weaves the stories behind these artifacts into an encompassing history of Auschwitz—from a Polish town at the crossroads of Europe, to the dark center of the Holocaust, to a powerful site of remembrance. Auschwitz: Not long ago. Not far away. is an essential volume for everyone who is interested in history and its lessons.

Download or read book The North American Mosaic written by Commission for Environmental Cooperation (Montréal, Québec). Secretariat and published by . This book was released on 2001 with total page 240 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The North American Mosaic has four overarching features. First, it is, to the extent feasible, based on comparable information on the status and trends of major indicators of the state of the environment in Canada,Mexico, and the United States. Second, the report confirms that these three countries together make up an incredibly complex, dynamic, and interconnected ecosystem in which humans play a dominant and decisive role. Third, the report raises important and sometimes disquieting questions concerning the sustainability of some current trends. Finally, the report is a reminder that our economic, social, and physical well-being are utterly dependent on the life-sustaining services provided by nature. This report emphasizes the importance of developing mutually compatible economic, social, and environmental goals and policies across the three-country region.
