Therefore, any product drawing specifying stud ends in accordance with this document must specify hex type, inch or metric, to assure getting intended hex.Stud ends or parts specified before January 1, 2010 using this standard, shall be supplied with inch hexes, unless otherwise specified. General revision for harmonizationwith SAE J514 and ISO 11926-3 and addition of sizes -40, -48 and -64 and converting the document to metric hex standard in accordance with FCCTC resolution on metric hex conversion. The resolution provides rationale for converting to metric hex and not using inch hex for new designs as follows: "In an effort to standardize within a global market and ensuring that companies can remain competitive in an international market, it is the intent to convert to metric hex sizes which will: -lead to one global standard -guide users to a preferred system -reduce complexity -eliminate duplication -reduce confusion"

Book Connections for Fluid Power and High Pressure Use Ports Stud Ends and Plugs With Iso 261 Threads and O Rings Sealing Part 2 Stud End Requirements Dimensions Design and Test Methods

Download or read book Connections for Fluid Power and High Pressure Use Ports Stud Ends and Plugs With Iso 261 Threads and O Rings Sealing Part 2 Stud End Requirements Dimensions Design and Test Methods written by Hydraulic Tube Fittings Committee and published by . This book was released on 2002 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: PurposeThis part of SAE J2337 specifies dimensions, design, and performance requirements for eight connectors using a conical seal to insure leak proof performance with a design factor of 4 to 1. Field of ApplicationThese connectors are intended for general and hydraulic systems on industrial equipment and commercial products, where elastomeric seals are acceptable to overcome leakage and variations in assembly procedures. These connectors are capable of providing leak proof full flow connections in hydraulic systems operating from 95 kPa vacuum to the working pressures shown in Table 1. Since many factors influence the pressure at which hydraulic systems will or will not perform satisfactorily, these values should not be construed as guaranteed minimums. For any application, it is recommended that sufficient testing be conducted and reviewed by both the user and manufacturer to ensure that the required performance levels are met. For use of these connectors in conditions outside the pressure and temperature limits specified, contact the manufacturer.
