Book Confessions of a Covid 19 Survivor

Download or read book Confessions of a Covid 19 Survivor written by Mildred L. Norwood Fisher and published by Page Publishing Inc. This book was released on 2022-06-17 with total page 342 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Confessions of a COVID-19 Survivor is written by Mildred L. Norwood-Fisher. It is the heartfelt story of the pain, suffering, fear, and anxiety that overwhelmed her when she found herself suddenly cast into the excruciating valley of COVID-19. While passing through the valley, she was overwhelmed but eventually rejoiced because of an unexpected victory. In the valley, there were many ups and downs. Many dark days and even darker nights. So many days all she had was her past because her present looked bleak, and it appeared that there would be no future beyond the valley, which within itself was a terrifying thought. Mildred felt trapped in the dark valley of despair. Many times, she felt as if there were no escaping the valley because the walls of the endless pathway were crushing in on her. The dryness in the valley had taken her breath away. She couldn’t breathe. Every attempt to do so was an act of manual labor. You will also walk with Mrs. Smith as she found herself trapped in the valley in total agony when her firstborn, her only son, Matthew, was tossed into the fiery furnace of COVID-19, left there to die, and that he did. Mrs. Smith found herself locked inside herself. You see, a parent is not supposed to bury her child, yet that was exactly what she was left to do, and there was no escaping that horrible reality. That day, time stopped, and she could not move beyond that even if she tried. You will witness a family that was moved by faith through fate to God’s faithfulness. This book unleashes the power of God, the manifestation of the Holy Spirit as the healing hands of God are revealed. I pray that this book will inspire, encourage, and bless you as I have truly attempted to give testimony to the faithfulness of our God, “How great is thou faithfulness?”

Book Confessions of a Recovering Environmentalist and Other Essays

Download or read book Confessions of a Recovering Environmentalist and Other Essays written by Paul Kingsnorth and published by Graywolf Press. This book was released on 2017-08-01 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A provocative and urgent essay collection that asks how we can live with hope in “an age of ecocide” Paul Kingsnorth was once an activist—an ardent environmentalist. He fought against rampant development and the depredations of a corporate world that seemed hell-bent on ignoring a looming climate crisis in its relentless pursuit of profit. But as the environmental movement began to focus on “sustainability” rather than the defense of wild places for their own sake and as global conditions worsened, he grew disenchanted with the movement that he once embraced. He gave up what he saw as the false hope that residents of the First World would ever make the kind of sacrifices that might avert the severe consequences of climate change. Full of grief and fury as well as passionate, lyrical evocations of nature and the wild, Confessions of a Recovering Environmentalist gathers the wave-making essays that have charted the change in Kingsnorth’s thinking. In them he articulates a new vision that he calls “dark ecology,” which stands firmly in opposition to the belief that technology can save us, and he argues for a renewed balance between the human and nonhuman worlds. This iconoclastic, fearless, and ultimately hopeful book, which includes the much-discussed “Uncivilization” manifesto, asks hard questions about how we’ve lived and how we should live.

  • Author : Bryan LeBlanc

  • ISBN : 1503556670
  • Pages : 117 pages

Download or read book Confessions written by Bryan LeBlanc and published by Xlibris Corporation. This book was released on 2015-03-25 with total page 117 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The inspiration for these writings came from the darkest time in my life. I was thirty-five years old. Seven years into a good career. Ten years into a relationship, engaged to the love of my life, my soul mate. Eight years into an illness, being diagnosed type 1 diabetic. In a matter of one month, my company closed its doors two weeks before Christmas. My fiance moved out the Saturday before Christmas. My medical insurance cancelled on midnight, New Years Eve. I hit rock bottom. I gave up. Couldnt eat and couldnt sleep. I started a new job on December 28, but by January 4, I was hospitalized for my diabetes. I lost forty-five pounds in two weeks. The depression, the stress, and the heartbreak all came crashing down upon me. I was in ICU for two nights, in the hospital for four nights total. While in that bed, I wrote a poem. Not sure why. No one told me to. Then I wrote another. Just passing time, reliving my time with her. When I returned to work the next week, I found myself writing more poems. Three weeks, one hundred poems! She was the inspiration for my writing. Love, hate, sadness, and joy, its all there. The writing kept my emotions and my health at bay. She was and will always be my inspiration.

Book Called Out of Darkness

Download or read book Called Out of Darkness written by Anne Rice and published by Vintage Canada. This book was released on 2010-03-09 with total page 258 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: An intimate memoir of Anne Rice’s Catholic girlhood, her unmaking as a devout believer, and her return to the Church – what she calls a decision of the heart. Moving from her New Orleans childhood in the 1940s and ‘50s, with all its religious devotions, through how she slowly lost her belief in God, Called Out of Darkness also recounts Anne’s years in radical Berkeley, where she wrote Interview with the Vampire (a lament for her lost faith) and where she came to admire the principles of secular humanists. She writes about loss and alienation (her mother’s drinking, the deaths of her young daughter and later, her husband); about the birth of her son, Christopher; and about how, after 38 years as an atheist, she once again came to believe in Christ. Anne Rice makes a spiritual confession that is a celebration: a brilliant, subtle exploration of the journey through life that allows one to answer the call out of darkness.

Book Love from a Broken Fire Escape

Download or read book Love from a Broken Fire Escape written by Richard D. Jr. Kydd and published by iUniverse. This book was released on 2007-11 with total page 208 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In this collection of love poems, Kydd has once again captured the essential duality of the human heart, and of existence itself. The poems range from a celebration of love at first sight and the physical ecstasy of two lovers entwined as one, to the despair of having lost love, for reasons beyond control or understanding. As usual with Kydd's work there is a strong spiritual element, with the soul seeking its ultimate fulfillment. He presents the union between lovers, the mingling of two souls into one, as this fulfillment. But when love is lost suffering is intense, and Kydd also shows this unsparingly. Kydd wouldn't be himself without a healthy streak of cynicism and reality. In the poem ASK NOT he says simply: Never ask "Do you love me" if you do they don't And although his final poem, The Breath of Love, is basically positive and romantic, a few pages previous, when describing his first kiss in COW POKE, he can't resist saying: No sweeter memory in mind and heart could I fathom to this day. Yet in spite of the heightened passion of the moment a thought lingered in my mind ever afterward. .as sweet as her lips felt that wonderful day of my youth her breath smelled and tasted like sour milk.
