Book Handbook of Research on Generalized and Hybrid Set Structures and Applications for Soft Computing

Download or read book Handbook of Research on Generalized and Hybrid Set Structures and Applications for Soft Computing written by John, Sunil Jacob and published by IGI Global. This book was released on 2016-04-08 with total page 636 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Successful development of effective computational systems is a challenge for IT developers across sectors due to uncertainty issues that are inherently present within computational problems. Soft computing proposes one such solution to the problem of uncertainty through the application of generalized set structures including fuzzy sets, rough sets, and multisets. The Handbook of Research on Generalized and Hybrid Set Structures and Applications for Soft Computing presents double blind peer-reviewed and original research on soft computing applications for solving problems of uncertainty within the computing environment. Emphasizing essential concepts on generalized and hybrid set structures that can be applied across industries for complex problem solving, this timely resource is essential to engineers across disciplines, researchers, computer scientists, and graduate-level students.

Book Sparsity Based Multipath Exploitation for Through the Wall Radar Imaging

Download or read book Sparsity Based Multipath Exploitation for Through the Wall Radar Imaging written by Michael Leigsnering and published by Springer. This book was released on 2018-02-16 with total page 124 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This thesis reports on sparsity-based multipath exploitation methods for through-the-wall radar imaging. Multipath creates ambiguities in the measurements provoking unwanted ghost targets in the image. This book describes sparse reconstruction methods that are not only suppressing the ghost targets, but using multipath to one’s advantage. With adopting the compressive sensing principle, fewer measurements are required for image reconstruction as compared to conventional techniques. The book describes the development of a comprehensive signal model and some associated reconstruction methods that can deal with many relevant scenarios, such as clutter from building structures, secondary reflections from interior walls, as well as stationary and moving targets, in urban radar imaging. The described methods are evaluated here using simulated as well as measured data from semi-controlled laboratory experiments.

Book Unsupervised Signal Processing

Download or read book Unsupervised Signal Processing written by João Marcos Travassos Romano and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2018-09-03 with total page 340 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Unsupervised Signal Processing: Channel Equalization and Source Separation provides a unified, systematic, and synthetic presentation of the theory of unsupervised signal processing. Always maintaining the focus on a signal processing-oriented approach, this book describes how the subject has evolved and assumed a wider scope that covers several topics, from well-established blind equalization and source separation methods to novel approaches based on machine learning and bio-inspired algorithms. From the foundations of statistical and adaptive signal processing, the authors explore and elaborate on emerging tools, such as machine learning-based solutions and bio-inspired methods. With a fresh take on this exciting area of study, this book: Provides a solid background on the statistical characterization of signals and systems and on linear filtering theory Emphasizes the link between supervised and unsupervised processing from the perspective of linear prediction and constrained filtering theory Addresses key issues concerning equilibrium solutions and equivalence relationships in the context of unsupervised equalization criteria Provides a systematic presentation of source separation and independent component analysis Discusses some instigating connections between the filtering problem and computational intelligence approaches. Building on more than a decade of the authors’ work at DSPCom laboratory, this book applies a fresh conceptual treatment and mathematical formalism to important existing topics. The result is perhaps the first unified presentation of unsupervised signal processing techniques—one that addresses areas including digital filters, adaptive methods, and statistical signal processing. With its remarkable synthesis of the field, this book provides a new vision to stimulate progress and contribute to the advent of more useful, efficient, and friendly intelligent systems.

Book Applications of Space Time Adaptive Processing

Download or read book Applications of Space Time Adaptive Processing written by Richard Klemm and published by IET. This book was released on 2004-08-13 with total page 971 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This text discusses various applications of space-time adaptive processing, including applications in OTH-radar, ground target tracking, STAP in real world clutter environments, jammer cancellation, superresolution, active sonar, seismics and communications. Book Digital Communication for Practicing Engineers

Download or read book Digital Communication for Practicing Engineers written by Feng Ouyang and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2019-08-28 with total page 656 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Offers concise, practical knowledge on modern communication systems to help students transition smoothly into the workplace and beyond This book presents the most relevant concepts and technologies of today's communication systems and presents them in a concise and intuitive manner. It covers advanced topics such as Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiplexing (OFDM) and Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) Technology, which are enabling technologies for modern communication systems such as WiFi (including the latest enhancements) and LTE-Advanced. Following a brief introduction to the field, Digital Communication for Practicing Engineers immerses readers in the theories and technologies that engineers deal with. It starts off with Shannon Theorem and Information Theory, before moving on to basic modules of a communication system, including modulation, statistical detection, channel coding, synchronization, and equalization. The next part of the book discusses advanced topics such as OFDM and MIMO, and introduces several emerging technologies in the context of 5G cellular system radio interface. The book closes by outlining several current research areas in digital communications. In addition, this text: Breaks down the subject into self-contained lectures, which can be read individually or as a whole Focuses on the pros and cons of widely used techniques, while providing references for detailed mathematical analysis Follows the current technology trends, including advanced topics such as OFDM and MIMO Touches on content this is not usually contained in textbooks such as cyclo-stationary symbol timing recovery, adaptive self-interference canceler, and Tomlinson-Harashima precoder Includes many illustrations, homework problems, and examples Digital Communication for Practicing Engineers is an ideal guide for graduate students and professionals in digital communication looking to understand, work with, and adapt to the current and future technology.
