This book was released on 1994-04-27 with total page 582 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: To overcome the problems of system theory and network theory over real field, this book uses matrices over the field F(z) of rational functions in multi-parameters describing coefficient matrices of systems and networks and makes systems and network description over F(z) and researches their structural properties: reducible condition of a class of matrices over F(z) and their characteristic polynomial; type-1 matrix and two basic properties; variable replacement conditions for independent parameters; structural controllability and observability of linear systems over F(z); separability, reducibility, controllability, observability and structural conditions of networks over F(z), and so on. This book involves three subjects: systems, networks and matrices over F(z), which is an achievement of interdisciplinary research.

Book Open Control Networks

Download or read book Open Control Networks written by Dietmar Loy and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 393 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Control networks span a wide range of application areas. These networks are put into action in the `Digital Home', industrial applications, commercial buildings, transportation systems, gas stations, security systems, and they are found in most instances where smart sensors and smart actuators are used to exchange information. The authors of this volume provide an overview of various control network protocols and discuss LonTalk® protocol, Neuron® chip, programming model, network structures, network management, interoperability between nodes, application profiles, development and maintenance tools, performance analysis, and standardization activities. Open Control Networks: LonWorks/EIA 709 Technology will be an important resource for advanced students of control systems and embedded systems, engineers designing distributed networks, systems designers and architects, and others developing smart buildings and intelligent transportation systems.

Book Information Technology in Context

Download or read book Information Technology in Context written by Chrisanthi Avgerou and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2017-11-01 with total page 289 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This title was first published in 2000. A discussion of information technology (IT) in developing countries. The contributors can be considered to share the following set of broad premises: information and communication technologies, and related systems, have significant potential to aid the economic growth and improvement of social conditions in the developing world; however, such potential is not released by simply transferring technologies and processes from advanced economies; in order to better serve development needs, people involved with the design, implementation and management of IT-related projects and systems in developing countries must improve their capacity to address the specific contextual characteristics of the organization, sector, country or region within which their work is located. The text thus emphasizes the importance of context in examining the role and value of IT in the developing countries. It focuses attention on the fusion of the activities of "professionals" (technical experts, managers, policy makers) and "users" (more broadly, all other groups affecting or affected by the technologies and systems), with the intention of facilitating locally meaningful and effective change.

Book Petri Nets

    Book Details:
  • Author : Michel Diaz
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2013-03-01
  • ISBN : 1118623053
  • Pages : 456 pages

Download or read book Petri Nets written by Michel Diaz and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2013-03-01 with total page 456 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A Petri net is a mathematical representation of a network. This book first introduces the basic models including time and stochastic extensions, in particular place-transition and high level Petri nets. Their modeling and design capabilities are illustrated by a set of representations of interest in operating and communication systems. The volume then addresses the related verification problems and proposes corresponding solutions by introducing the main notions needed to fully understand the behavior and properties behind Petri nets. Particular attention is devoted to how systems can be fully represented and analyzed in terms of their behavioral, time, and stochastic aspects by using the same formal approach and semantic basis. Finally, illustrative examples are presented in the important fields of interoperability in telecommunication services, programming languages, multimedia architectures, manufacturing systems, and communication protocols.

Book Multimedia Systems

    Book Details:
  • Author : Ralf Steinmetz
  • Publisher : Springer Science & Business Media
  • Release : 2013-03-09
  • ISBN : 3662088789
  • Pages : 478 pages

Download or read book Multimedia Systems written by Ralf Steinmetz and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 478 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Multimedia Systems discusses the basic characteristics of multimedia operating systems, networking and communication, and multimedia middleware systems. The overall goal of the book is to provide a broad understanding of multimedia systems and applications in an integrated manner: a multimedia application and its user interface must be developed in an integrated fashion with underlying multimedia middleware, operating systems, networks, security, and multimedia devices. Fundamental characteristics of multimedia operating and distributed communication systems are presented, especially scheduling algorithms and other OS supporting approaches for multimedia applications with soft-real-time deadlines, multimedia file systems and servers with their decision algorithms for data placement, scheduling and buffer management, multimedia communication, transport, and streaming protocols, services with their error control, congestion control and other Quality of Service aware and adaptive algorithms, synchronization services with their skew control methods, and group communication with their group coordinating algorithms and other distributed services.

Book Quality of Service IWQoS 2001

Download or read book Quality of Service IWQoS 2001 written by Lars Wolf and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-05-15 with total page 423 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Welcome to IWQoS2001 in Karlsruhe! Quality of Service is a very active research field, especially in the networking community. Research in this area has been going on for some time, with results getting into development and finally reaching the stage of products. Trends in research as well as a reality check will be the purpose of this Ninth InternationalW orkshopo n Quality of Service. IWQoS isa ver y successful seriesof workshops and has established itself as one of the premier forums for the presentation and discussion of new research and ideas on QoS. The importance of this workshop series is also reflected in the large number of excellents ubmissions. Nearly 150 papers from all continents were submitted to the workshop, about a fifth of these being short papers. The program committee were very pleased witht he quality of the submissions andh ad the difficult task of selecting the relatively small number of papers which could be accepted for IWQoS2001. Due to the tough competition, many very good papers had to be rejected.
