Book Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon

Download or read book Hydrogenated Amorphous Silicon written by R. A. Street and published by Cambridge University Press. This book was released on 2005-09-08 with total page 432 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Divided roughly into two parts, the book describes the physical properties and device applications of hydrogenated amorphous silicon. The first section is concerned with the atomic and electronic structure, and covers growth defects and doping and defect reactions. The emphasis is on the optical and electronic properties that result from the disordered structure. The second part of the book describes electronic conduction, recombination, interfaces, and multilayers. The special attribute of a-Si:H which makes it useful is the ability to deposit the material inexpensively over large areas, while retaining good semiconducting properties, and the final chapter discusses various applications and devices.

Book Handbook of Photovoltaic Silicon

Download or read book Handbook of Photovoltaic Silicon written by Deren Yang and published by Springer. This book was released on 2019-11-28 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The utilization of sun light is one of the hottest topics in sustainable energy research. To efficiently convert sun power into a reliable energy – electricity – for consumption and storage, silicon and its derivatives have been widely studied and applied in solar cell systems. This handbook covers the photovoltaics of silicon materials and devices, providing a comprehensive summary of the state of the art of photovoltaic silicon sciences and technologies. This work is divided into various areas including but not limited to fundamental principles, design methodologies, wafering techniques/fabrications, characterizations, applications, current research trends and challenges. It offers the most updated and self-explanatory reference to all levels of students and acts as a quick reference to the experts from the fields of chemistry, material science, physics, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, solar energy, etc..

Book Noise In Physical Systems And 1 f Fluctuations Proceedings Of The 14th International Conference

Download or read book Noise In Physical Systems And 1 f Fluctuations Proceedings Of The 14th International Conference written by C Claeys and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 1997-06-01 with total page 702 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The recent conferences in this series were organised in Montreal (1987), Budapest (1989), Kyoto (1991), St Louis (1993) and Palanga (1995). The aim of the conference was to bring together specialists in fluctuation phenomena from different fields and to make a bridge between theoretical scientists and more applied or engineering oriented researchers. Therefore a broad variety of topics covering the fundamental aspects of noise and fluctuations as well as applications in various fields are addressed. Noise in materials, components, circuits and electronic, biological and other physical systems are discussed.

Book Electronic Transport in Hydrogenated Amorphous Semiconductors

Download or read book Electronic Transport in Hydrogenated Amorphous Semiconductors written by Harald Overhof and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-04-11 with total page 187 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Currently this is the book providing a thorough introduction and a unified theoretical basis for the interpretation of equilibrium transport processes in amorphous hydrogenated tetrahydrally coordinated semiconductors - a topic of great interest to physicists and material scientists (first devices for practical applications are already being manufactured). Most of the relevant literature is reviewed with particular emphasis on the approach developed by the authors. It explains most of the experimental data and allows the extraction of information about microscopic transport processes and parameters from equilibrium transport data. This work treats electronic transport in the mentioned type of semiconductors and in particular in a-Si:H and a-Ge:H. From elementary concepts the theory is developed towards higher degrees of completeness and sophistication. Further refinements for coping with the complexity of real systems are given. The comparison of theory with experiment is an important part of the book.

Book Properties and Applications of Amorphous Materials

Download or read book Properties and Applications of Amorphous Materials written by M.F. Thorpe and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2012-12-06 with total page 451 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The aim of this NATO ASI has been to present an up-to-date overview of current areas of interest in amorphous materials, with particular emphasis on electronic properties and device applications. In order to limit the material to a manageable amount, the meeting was concerned almost exclusively with semiconducting materials. This volume should be regarded as a follow-on to the NATO ASI held in Sozopol, Bulgaria in 1996 and published as "Amorphous Insulators and Semiconductors" edited by M.F. Thorpe and M.1. Mitkova (Kluwer Academic Publishers, NATO ASI series, 3 High Technology - Vol. 23). The lectures and seminars fill the gap between graduate courses and research seminars. The lecturers and seminar speakers were chosen as experts in their respective areas, and the lectures and seminars that were given are presented in this volume. During the first week of the meeting, an emphasis was placed on introductory lectures while the second week focused more on research seminars. There were two very good poster sessions that generated a lot of discussion, but these are not reproduced in this volume as the editors wanted to have only larger contributions to make the proceedings more coherent.
