Book Direct Design Handbook 2017

Download or read book Direct Design Handbook 2017 written by Masonry Society (U.S.) and published by . This book was released on 2017-11-15 with total page 26 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: TMS 403-17 Direct Design Handbook for Masonry Structures (hereinafter referred to as the Handbook) was developed by The Masonry Society's Design Practices Committee. This Handbook provides a direct procedure for the structural design of reinforced concrete masonry and clay masonry structures. The procedure is based on the strength design provisions of TMS 402-13/ACI 530-13/ASCE 5-13 Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures and ASCE 7-10 Minimum Design Loads for Buildings and Other Structures. The document is applicable to both residential and commercial structures. This Handbook was developed as a consensus standard and written in mandatory language so that it may form a part of a legally adopted building code as an alternative to standards that address a much broader range of masonry construction. This Handbook was written so that architects, engineers, contractors, building officials, researchers, educators, suppliers, manufacturers and others may use this Handbook in their practice for various purposes. Among the topics covered are reference standards, definitions and notations, site limitations, architectural limitations, loading limitations, material and construction requirements, direct design procedure, specifications, and details. The Commentary to this Handbook presents background analysis, details and committee considerations used to develop this Handbook.

Book Concrete Masonry Designers Handbook

Download or read book Concrete Masonry Designers Handbook written by A.W. Beeby and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 1983-01-01 with total page 272 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Renewed interest in all forms of masonry as structural material has resulted in the Code of Practice BS 5628, which enables the designer to take a rational approach to the use of concrete masonry. This Handbook covers the design of concrete masonry, including many aspects not covered in Code and provides an insight into those other aspects of masonry performance to which the designer may need to give consideration. As such this is the first comprehensive guide for the designer, structural engineer, arhcitect and materials technologist, intending to use concrete masonry construction techniques.

Book A Handbook on Reinforced Concrete

Download or read book A Handbook on Reinforced Concrete written by F. D. Warren and published by Forgotten Books. This book was released on 2017-11-10 with total page 284 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Excerpt from A Handbook on Reinforced Concrete: For Architects, Engineers, and Contractors The book is divided into four parts: Part I gives a general but concise résumé of the subject from a practical standpoint, bringing out some of the difficulties met with in practice, and suggest ing remedies. Under Part II is compiled a series of tests justifying the use of various constants and coefficients in preparing the tables under Part III, as well as bearing out the theory of elasticity. Part III contains a series of tables from which it is hoped the designer may obtain all necessary information to meet the more common cases in practice. It was not intended to cover the more intricate designs, as this is a feature that requires considerable thought and time, both of which may be profitably-applied. Part IV treats of the de sign of trussed roofs from a practical standpoint. About the Publisher Forgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
