Book excerpt: Des filtres optiques en couches minces ont été déposés à l'aide de techniques plasma sur un alliage à mémoire de forme dans le but d'actionner chromatiquement des structures mécaniques bistables par la chaleur d'éclairements laser. Plusieurs matériaux en couches minces (silicium, silice, argent, polymères) ont été étudiés grâce à diverses techniques expérimentales et leurs propriétés optiques ont été modélisées. Divers filtres optiques ont été élaborés sur l'alliage à mémoire de forme utilisé : le nitinol. Deux types de filtres ont été testés avec succès. Les premiers transmettent la radiation d'un laser et réfléchissent celle de l'autre. Les autres filtres, élaborés à partir d'argent et de polymère, sont plus sélectifs, ils absorbent directement sous forme de chaleur la radiation voulue, tandis que l'autre radiation est réfléchie. Les structures élaborées ont pu servir de micro-actionneurs pour une structure mécanique bistable, et nous avons ainsi montré qu'il est possible de piloter à distance et sans fil, grâce à la chaleur d'éclairements laser, de telles structures. La sélectivité de l'actionnement, grâce aux filtres optiques, est chromatique : chaque micro-actionneur ne répond qu'à une seule couleur de radiation laser. Les filtres en transmission ont montré une grande stabilité, puisqu'aucune dégradation n'a été observée après 60000 cycles d'actionnement, tandis que les structures en absorption avec l'argent peuvent se dégrader sous l'effet de la chaleur après seulement 1000 cycles environ.
