Book Software Language Engineering

Download or read book Software Language Engineering written by Benoit Combemale and published by Springer. This book was released on 2014-09-23 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 7th International Conference on Software Language Engineering, SLE 2014, held in Västerås, Sweden, in September 2014. The 19 revised full papers presented together with 1 invited paper were carefully reviewed and selected from 61 initial submissions. The papers observe software languages from different and yet complementary perspectives: programming languages, model driven engineering, domain specific languages, semantic web, and from different technological spaces: context-free grammars, object-oriented modeling frameworks, rich data, structured data, object-oriented programming, functional programming, logic programming, term-rewriting, attribute grammars, algebraic specification, etc.

Book Programming Languages and Systems

Download or read book Programming Languages and Systems written by S. Doaitse Swierstra and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-07-31 with total page 317 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the second time that of ESOP has formed part of the ETAPS cluster of conferences, workshops, working group meetings and other associated activities. One of the results of colocatingso many conferences is a reduction in the number of possibilities to submit a paper to a European conference and the increased competition between conferences that occurs when boundaries between indiv- ual conferences have not yet become well established. This may have been the reason for the fact that only 44 submission were received this year. On the other hand we feel that the average quality of submissions has gone up, and thus the program committee was able to select 18 good papers, only one less than the year before. The program committee did not meet physically, and all discussion was done usinga Web-driven data base system. Despite some mixed feelings there is an overall tendency to appreciate the extra time available for giving papers a s- ond look and really going into comments made by other program committee members. I want to thank my fellow program committee members for the work they have put into the refereeingprocess and the valuable feedback they have given to authors. I want to thank the referees for their work and many detailed comments, and ?nally I want to thank everyone who has submitted a paper: without authors, no conference.

Book Programming Languages and Systems

Download or read book Programming Languages and Systems written by David Sands and published by Springer. This book was released on 2003-06-29 with total page 445 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: ETAPS 2001 was the fourth instance of the European Joint Conferences on Theory and Practice of Software. ETAPS is an annual federated conference that was established in 1998 by combining a number of existing and new conferences. This year it comprised ve conferences (FOSSACS, FASE, ESOP, CC, TACAS), ten satellite workshops (CMCS, ETI Day, JOSES, LDTA, MMAABS, PFM, RelMiS, UNIGRA, WADT, WTUML), seven invited lectures, a debate, and ten tutorials. The events that comprise ETAPS address various aspects of the system de- lopment process, including speci cation, design, implementation, analysis, and improvement. The languages, methodologies, and tools which support these - tivities are all well within its scope. Di erent blends of theory and practice are represented, with an inclination towards theory with a practical motivation on one hand and soundly-based practice on the other. Many of the issues involved in software design apply to systems in general, including hardware systems, and the emphasis on software is not intended to be exclusive.

Book The Interpretation of Object Oriented Programming Languages

Download or read book The Interpretation of Object Oriented Programming Languages written by Iain Craig and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2001-10-10 with total page 308 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: While there are many books on particular languages, there are very few that deal with all aspects of object-oriented programming languages. The Interpretation of Object-Oriented Programming Languages provides a comprehensive treatment of the main approaches to object-oriented languages, including class-based, prototype and actor languages. This revised and extended edition includes a completely new chapter on Microsoft's new C# language, a language specifically designed for modern, component-oriented, networked applications. The chapter covers all aspects of C# that relate to object-oriented programming. It now also includes a new appendix on BeCecil, a kernel language that can implement object-oriented constructs within a single framework.

Book Programming Languages and Systems

Download or read book Programming Languages and Systems written by Pierpaolo Degano and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2003-03-14 with total page 428 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Comparison is a powerful cognitive research tool in science since it does 'across studies' to evaluate similarities and differences, e.g. across taxa or diseases. This book deals with comparative research on plant disease epidemics. Comparisons are done in specifically designed experiments or with posterior analyses. From the apparently unlimited diversity of epidemics of hundreds of diseases, comparative epidemiology may eventually extract a number of basic types. These findings are very important to crop protection. Plant disease epidemiology, being the ecological branch of plant pathology, may also be of value to ecologists, but also epidemiologists in the areas of animal or human diseases may find interesting results, applicable to their areas of research.

Book The World Wide Web and Databases

Download or read book The World Wide Web and Databases written by Paolo Atzeni and published by Springer. This book was released on 2006-10-11 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This volume is based on the contributions to the International Workshop on the Web and Databases (WebDB’98), held in Valencia, Spain, March 27 and 28, 1998, in conjunction with the Sixth International Conference on Extending Database Technology (EDBT’98). In response to the workshop call for papers, 37 manuscripts were submitted to the program committee. The review process was conducted entirely by- mail. While the quality of submissions was generally high, only 16 papers could be accepted for presentation within the limited time allowed by the workshop schedule. Authors of workshop papers were invited to submit extended versions oftheirpapersforpublicationinthesepost-workshopproceedings.The13papers appearing in this volume were submitted and selected after a second round of reviews. We would like to thank the program committee of WebDB’98, all those who submitted their work, all additional reviewers, and the conference o?cials of EBDT’98 for their invaluable support. Special thanks go to Paolo Merialdo, who actively participated in the organization of the workshop.
