Book Computational Methods in Nonlinear Analysis

Download or read book Computational Methods in Nonlinear Analysis written by Ioannis K. Argyros and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2013 with total page 592 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The field of computational sciences has seen a considerable development in mathematics, engineering sciences, and economic equilibrium theory. Researchers in this field are faced with the problem of solving a variety of equations or variational inequalities. We note that in computational sciences, the practice of numerical analysis for finding such solutions is essentially connected to variants of Newton's method. The efficient computational methods for finding the solutions of fixed point problems, nonlinear equations and variational inclusions are the first goal of the present book. The second goal is the applications of these methods in nonlinear problems and the connection with fixed point theory. This book is intended for researchers in computational sciences, and as a reference book for an advanced computational methods in nonlinear analysis. We collect the recent results on the convergence analysis of numerical algorithms in both finite-dimensional and infinite-dimensional spaces, and present several applications and connections with fixed point theory. The book contains abundant and updated bibliography, and provides comparison between various investigations made in recent years in the field of computational nonlinear analysis.

Book Fixed points and topological degree in nonlinear analysis

Download or read book Fixed points and topological degree in nonlinear analysis written by Jane Cronin and published by American Mathematical Soc.. This book was released on 1995-01-05 with total page 212 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The topological methods based on fixed-point theory and on local topological degree which have been developed by Leray, Schauder, Nirenberg, Cesari and others for the study of nonlinear differential equations are here described in detail, beginning with elementary considerations. The reader is not assumed to have any knowledge of topology beyond the theory of point sets in Euclidean n-space which ordinarily forms part of a course in advanced calculus. The methods are first developed for Euclidean n-space and applied to the study of existence and stability of periodic and almost-periodic solutions of systems of ordinary differential equations, both quasi-linear and with ``large'' nonlinearities. Then, after being extended to infinite-dimensional ``function-spaces'', these methods are applied to integral equations, partial differential equations and further problems concerning periodic solutions of ordinary differential equations.

Book Fixed Point Theorems with Applications

Download or read book Fixed Point Theorems with Applications written by Karima Mebarki and published by . This book was released on 2023 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: As a very important part of nonlinear analysis, fixed point theory plays a key role in solvability of many complex systems from mathematics applied to chemical reactors, neutron transport, population biology, infectious diseases, economics, applied mechanics, and more. The main aim of Fixed Point Theorems with Applications is to explain new techniques for investigation of different classes of ordinary and partial differential equations. The development of the fixed point theory parallels the advances in topology and functional analysis. Recent research has investigated not only the existence but also the positivity of solutions for various types of nonlinear equations. This book will be of interest to those working in functional analysis and its applications. Combined with other nonlinear methods such as variational methods and the approximation methods, the fixed point theory is powerful in dealing with many nonlinear problems from the real world. The book can be used as a textbook to develop an elective course on nonlinear functional analysis with applications in undergraduate and graduate programs in mathematics or engineering programs.
