Book Asymptotic Theory of Supersonic Viscous Gas Flows

Download or read book Asymptotic Theory of Supersonic Viscous Gas Flows written by Vladimir Neyland and published by Butterworth-Heinemann. This book was released on 2008-02-06 with total page 563 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This is the first book in English devoted to the latest developments in fluid mechanics and aerodynamics. Written by the leading authors in the field, based at the renowned Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute in Moscow, it deals with viscous gas flow problems that arise from supersonic flows. These complex problems are central to the work of researchers and engineers dealing with new aircraft and turbomachinery development (jet engines, compressors and other turbine equipment). The book presents the latest asymptotical models, simplified Navier-Stokes equations and viscous-inviscid interaction theroies and will be of critical interest to researchers, engineers, academics and advanced graduate students in the areas of fluid mechanics, compressible flows, aerodynamics and aircraft design, applied mathematics and computational fluid dynamics. The first book in English to cover the latest methodology for incopressible flow analysis of high speed aerodynamics, an essential topic for those working on new generation aircraft and turbomachinery Authors are internationally recognised as the leading figures in the field Includes a chapter introducing asymptotical methods to enable advanced level students to use the book

Book On Two dimensional Supersonic Flows

Download or read book On Two dimensional Supersonic Flows written by Stefan Bergman and published by . This book was released on 1949 with total page 56 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In previous reports by the author, the method of operators has been applied to investigation of two-dimensional flow patterns of an ideal compressible fluid, mostly in the subsonic case. Using a similar approach in the present paper, the author defines two different operators which generate supersonic two-dimensional flow patterns from differentiable functions of one real variable. (An operator is any rul by means of which one function is converted into another.) Since operators of the type considered preserve many properties of the functions to which they are applied and since the theory of functions of one real variable is more extensively developed than that of solutions of the compressibility equations, the results can be used as a basis for investigation of supersonic flow patterns.

Book Computation of Three Dimensional Supersonic Viscous Flows in Internal Corners

Download or read book Computation of Three Dimensional Supersonic Viscous Flows in Internal Corners written by and published by . This book was released on 1980 with total page 53 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Three-dimensional, supersonic viscous flows in internal corners are computed by solving the unsteady Navier-Stokes equations subject to a local conical assumption. These governing equations are solved using MacCormack's explicit finite-difference scheme. A generalized coordinate system is employed which permits the grid to be refined near walls as well as in interaction regions so that viscous details can be properly resolved. Both shock fitting and shock capturing techniques are used. Two different corner flowfields are computed and the results are compared with experimental data and previous numerical solutions of the complete Navier-Stokes equations. (Author).
