Book Comprendre penser construire la ville

Download or read book Comprendre penser construire la ville written by France. Direction de l'architecture et de l'urbanisme and published by . This book was released on 1993 with total page 83 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book A model s relevance anglais

Download or read book A model s relevance anglais written by Benoit Jallon and published by Park Publishing (WI). This book was released on 2017 with total page 0 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In the 19th century, Paris underwent profound transformations above and below ground, from the city center to its outskirts. Georges Eugène Haussmann, Prefect of the Seine from 1853 to 1870, embodies this entire century of public works that continue to shape the city?s organization and identity. Paris Haussmann explores and analyzes the characteristics of this homogenous yet polymorphous cityscape, the result of a lengthy process of changes and evolutions, even in recent times. Research was conducted at all levels to classify and compare roadways, identify public spaces, and organize the blocks and buildings according to their current geometry. For the first time, the qualities of the Haussmann model have been set forth to show how they grapple with the challenges that contemporary cities face.0Rich illustrative material, photographs, various plans and maps, floor plans and sections, axonometric projections, diagrams and other graphics, and statistical analyzes complement topical essays. The book is published in conjunction with an exhibition at the Pavillon de l?Arsenal in Paris in spring 2017.00Exhibition: Pavillon de l'Arsenal, Paris, France (31.01. - 07.05.2017).

Centre d'études canadiennes de la Sorbonne nouvelle and published by Presses Sorbonne Nouvelle. This book was released on 1997 with total page 322 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle.

Book Susa and Elam Archaeological Philological Historical and Geographical Perspectives

Download or read book Susa and Elam Archaeological Philological Historical and Geographical Perspectives written by Katrien De Graef and published by BRILL. This book was released on 2012-12-03 with total page 568 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: In December 2009, an international congress was held at Ghent University in order to investigate, exactly 20 years after the 36th RAI “Mésopotamie et Elam”, the present state of our knowledge of the Elamite and Susean society from archaeological, philological, historical and geographical points of view. The multidisciplinary character of this congress illustrates the present state of research in the socio-economic, historical and political developments of the Suso-Elamite region from prehistoric times until the great Persian Empire. Because of its strategically important location between the Mesopotamian alluvial plain and the Iranian highlands and its particular interest as point of contact between civilizations, Susa and Elam were of utmost importance for the history of the ancient Near East in general.

Book Transforming Social Housing

Download or read book Transforming Social Housing written by Sasha Tsenkova and published by Routledge. This book was released on 2020-12-18 with total page 276 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The recent global crisis exposed vulnerabilities of housing markets pointing to the need to build resilience through better policy tools and sustainable provision of social housing. In the context of fiscal austerity, social housing is affected by changing politics, privatization and concentration of urban poverty. Transforming Social Housing: International Perspectives explores the differences and similarities in housing policies and practices by focusing on social housing institutions and their ability to influence affordability and quality of housing. The focus is on private and not-for-profit provision in mixed-income developments supported through partnerships and a mix of policy instruments. The book brings together contributions by leading scholars on key debates affecting social housing in cities around the world. The international perspectives provide an interdisciplinary, robust overview of complex processes of change affecting people, places and homes. It is particularly well suited for students, scholars, policymakers and professionals interested in housing, urban planning and public policy. The chapters in this book were originally published in various issues of the Urban Research & Practice journal.
