Dans ce travail, nous avons determine les principaux processus et facteurs qui influent sur le devenir du glyphosate dans les sols et le risque de contamination de la ressource en eau. Les caracteristiques de son adsorption par les sols ont ete determinees par des experimentations en batch, tandis que la degradation a ete suivie en conditions controlees et naturelles, ce qui nous a permis d'evaluer, de plus, le lessivage des ses residus."

Book excerpt: L’objectif de ce travail est d’étudier la dégradation dans le sol de la sulcotrione (herbicide sélectif du maïs) et du glyphosate (herbicide non sélectif) inclus dans certaines parties aériennes du colza et du maïs. Le comportement de l’herbicide seul ou en présence de la formulation commerciale est caractérisé dans des feuilles coupées de mauvaises herbes (6 espèces) et dans du maïs et du colza (feuilles coupées et plants entiers). Les quantités absorbées de glyphosate dépendent de l’espèce de mauvaise herbe considérée. La formulation commerciale augmente l’absorption et la translocation (vers les organes jeunes) des deux herbicides dans le colza et le maïs. La dégradation dans les tissus végétaux est faible pour le glyphosate et importante pour la sulcotrione. L’incubation dans le sol des herbicides inclus dans les organes de maïs et de colza montre que leur devenir est différent par rapport à un apport direct sur le sol. Pour le glyphosate, on observe une diminution de la minéralisation même si elle reste majoritaire, avec une augmentation de la fraction extractible et des résidus liés. Pour la sulcotrione, la fraction extractible diminue fortement avec l’incorporation des herbicides dans le matériel végétal alors que la minéralisation et la formation de résidus liés augmentent. Les résidus extractibles des deux herbicides sont essentiellement composés des métabolites. Le devenir des métabolites dans le sol et la possible remobilisation des résidus liés détermineront les risques de pollution lié à l’emploi de ces herbicides.
