Download or read book The Wise Old Woman Spirit written by Susan K. Faron and published by Chiron Publications. This book was released on 2023-11-01 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Open this book and enter the world of eros and, curiously, emptiness—two vital qualities of the Wise Old Woman spirit that can help us survive ... possibly even thrive. Through the human imagination and dreams, the Wise Old Woman spirit offers a kind of collaboration and partnership involving a very real intimacy and immediacy while preserving our conscious gains. Although the Wise Old Woman spirit has appeared with many names and in multiple forms, this discovery is specifically born of Jung’s work on the archetype of the Wise Old Man. The Wise Old Woman spirit has emerged as a wisdom figure of her own in the ground-breaking research Dr. Faron has conducted. Not a goddess, nor worshipped, the feminine wisdom figure is nevertheless divine, born out of each individual psyche—man or woman—and functions as a psychological and individual reality. Featuring Emma Jung as the quintessential example of the Wise Old Woman spirit and enriched by dreams of the Wise Old Woman from around the world, this book provides scholarly, experiential and life-affirming inspiration!

Download or read book The Flirtation Experiment written by Lisa Jacobson and published by Thomas Nelson. This book was released on 2021-12-07 with total page 222 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: From popular Christian voices Lisa Jacobson and Phylicia Masonheimer, The Flirtation Experiment inspires you to strengthen your marriage with a fun, unexpected approach that leads to the depth, richness, and closeness you desire. Romance novels, Hallmark movies . . . the immense demand for romantic stories reveals a deep, unsatisfied longing that can be found in many marriages, but does it have to be that way? Is it possible that the best marriage has to offer can grow, rather than fade after you say “I do”? Lisa and Phylicia say, “Absolutely yes!” So what is the secret to a happy, thriving, loving marriage, where the fire of romance and close friendship do not fade? While The Flirtation Experiment includes the frisky side of marriage, it’s far more than a good romp. By degrees, each chapter takes you to a deeper place, covering themes every beautiful marriage has in common, such as covenant, healing, and hope. After reading The Flirtation Experiment, wives will be filled with hope and encouragement for how they can make a powerful, positive change in their marriages, become empowered to pursue their husbands romantically, understand the Bible invites women to be proactive in their marriages, be motivated to consistently love in creative ways, and forge closeness and intimacy in their marriages. “Intentional flirting keeps a positive lightness in the atmosphere and improves our overall communication,” says Jacobson. “My light flirtations bring us closer in meaningful ways and lead to connection on a deeper level. It helps us discover true romance waiting for us in everyday situations.” Perfect for the wife who wants romance, passion, and the closeness that only comes from a deep heart connection but isn’t sure where to start, The Flirtation Experiment is a candid, real-life record of two Christian women from different seasons of life who discovered they could make a significant impact on their marriage relationships, one small flirtatious experiment at a time. Readers can go deeper by using The Flirtation Experiment Workbook.

Download or read book Short Essays on Women and Society written by Nunglekpam Premi Devi and published by FSP Media Publications. This book was released on 2018-05-25 with total page 125 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book deals with the personal experiences and feelings of the author. These poems describe the eventful life's journey of the author where she finds life a beautiful blank sheet of waves and whenever she stepped upon her unknowingly trying to overcome the instances. The book defines the vast momentum and love of the author where she loves to explore the ardent emotional powers and loves to write about the admiring violent impetus curbing the whole wild nature as well as the unique female cosmos, holiness. The author describes the experiences she had during her childhood period where she was permanently force to wear the same old school forks, shirts and socks and she happily describes the joyous moments when she walk down the street, crossing the water filled paddy field deep into the water, on the rainy day with those old rubber shoes. The book also beautifully highlighted the nature’s epitome of unconditional love and how men trample upon through the natures’ beauty; the author seems to describe the numbers of affection developed within her consciousness with the environment. There are innumerable instances of the poet’s feelings describing the quantum moments of her sisterhood with their sisters and brothers relationship, of her emotions describing how she rules her own self and her kingdom where she beautifully describe her wilderness without egos. The book also describes the authors’ love for the animals, rainy seasons, and snowy winter and she also hunts for the reasons of the reasoning truth of the society, of the humanity and of the self destruction. There are beautiful instances where the author express her illusionist moments which she find herself lost into the vast unpredicted desires and effort less to handle but just letting go of all those moments and never giving up of herself remembering little things in her life. This book is indeed a beautiful master piece of the writer all sum up in one go.
Download or read book Inuit Women written by Janet Mancini Billson and published by Rowman & Littlefield Publishers. This book was released on 2007-04-09 with total page 491 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Inuit Women is the definitive study of the Inuit during a time of rapid change. Based on fourteen years of research and fieldwork, this analysis focuses on the challenges facing Inuit women as they enter the twenty-first century. Written shortly after the creation of Nunavut, a new province carved out of traditional Inuit homelands in the Canadian North, this compelling book combines conclusions drawn from the authors' ethnographic research with the stories of Inuit women and men, told in their own words. In addition to their presentation of the personal portraits and voices of many Inuit respondents, Janet Mancini Billson and Kyra Mancini explore global issues: the impact of rapid social change and Canadian resettlement policy on Inuit culture; women's roles in society; and gender relations in Baffin Island, in the Eastern Arctic. They also include an extensive section on how the newly created territory of Nunavut is impacting the lives of Inuit women and their families. Working from a research approach grounded in feminist theory, the authors involve their Inuit interviewees as full participants in the process. This book stands alone in its attention to Inuit women's issues and lives and should be read by everyone interested in gender relations, development, modernization, globalization, and Inuit culture.

Download or read book Wombs and Alien Spirits written by Janice Boddy and published by Univ of Wisconsin Press. This book was released on 1989-12-01 with total page 425 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Based on nearly two years of ethnographic fieldwork in a Muslim village in northern Sudan, Wombs and Alien Spirits explores the zâr cult, the most widely practiced traditional healing cult in Africa. Adherents of the cult are usually women with marital or fertility problems, who are possessed by spirits very different from their own proscribed roles as mothers. Through the woman, the spirit makes demands upon her husband and family and makes provocative comments on village issues, such as the increasing influence of formal Islam or encroaching Western economic domination. In accommodating the spirits, the women are able metaphorically to reformulate everyday discourse to portray consciousness of their own subordination. Janice Boddy examines the moral universe of the village, discussing female circumcision, personhood, kinship, and bodily integrity, then describes the workings of the cult and the effect of possession on the lives of men as well as women. She suggests that spirit possession is a feminist discourse, though a veiled and allegorical one, on women's objectification and subordination. Additionally, the spirit world acts as a foil for village life in the context of rapid historical change and as such provides a focus for cultural resistance that is particularly, though not exclusively, relevant to women.
