Book Complex Analysis through Examples and Exercises

Download or read book Complex Analysis through Examples and Exercises written by E. Pap and published by Springer Science & Business Media. This book was released on 2013-03-09 with total page 344 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The book Complex Analysis through Examples and Exercises has come out from the lectures and exercises that the author held mostly for mathematician and physists . The book is an attempt to present the rat her involved subject of complex analysis through an active approach by the reader. Thus this book is a complex combination of theory and examples. Complex analysis is involved in all branches of mathematics. It often happens that the complex analysis is the shortest path for solving a problem in real circum stances. We are using the (Cauchy) integral approach and the (Weierstrass) power se ries approach . In the theory of complex analysis, on the hand one has an interplay of several mathematical disciplines, while on the other various methods, tools, and approaches. In view of that, the exposition of new notions and methods in our book is taken step by step. A minimal amount of expository theory is included at the beinning of each section, the Preliminaries, with maximum effort placed on weil selected examples and exercises capturing the essence of the material. Actually, I have divided the problems into two classes called Examples and Exercises (some of them often also contain proofs of the statements from the Preliminaries). The examples contain complete solutions and serve as a model for solving similar problems given in the exercises. The readers are left to find the solution in the exercisesj the answers, and, occasionally, some hints, are still given.

Book Mathematical Methods in Chemical and Biological Engineering

Download or read book Mathematical Methods in Chemical and Biological Engineering written by Binay Kanti Dutta and published by CRC Press. This book was released on 2016-11-03 with total page 718 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Mathematical Methods in Chemical and Biological Engineering describes basic to moderately advanced mathematical techniques useful for shaping the model-based analysis of chemical and biological engineering systems. Covering an ideal balance of basic mathematical principles and applications to physico-chemical problems, this book presents examples drawn from recent scientific and technical literature on chemical engineering, biological and biomedical engineering, food processing, and a variety of diffusional problems to demonstrate the real-world value of the mathematical methods. Emphasis is placed on the background and physical understanding of the problems to prepare students for future challenging and innovative applications.

Book Complex Function Theory

Download or read book Complex Function Theory written by Takeo Fujiwara and published by World Scientific. This book was released on 2023-06-26 with total page 291 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: The basics of complex functions will be explained for students of Engineering Sciences, with the aim of being able to use 'complex function theory' as a tool. The goal is not rigor as mathematics, but ease of use that may suit the application. Explanations are based on concrete examples rather than abstract general theory. The book starts from very beginning of complex numbers, and extends theory of Introduction to Elliptic Function and Hypergeometric Differential Equations.

Book University Physics Australian edition

Download or read book University Physics Australian edition written by Hugh D Young and published by Pearson Higher Education AU. This book was released on 2010-08-04 with total page 1576 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This book is the product of more than half a century of leadership and innovation in physics education. When the first edition of University Physics by Francis W. Sears and Mark W. Zemansky was published in 1949, it was revolutionary among calculus-based physics textbooks in its emphasis on the fundamental principles of physics and how to apply them. The success of University Physics with generations of (several million) students and educators around the world is a testament to the merits of this approach and to the many innovations it has introduced subsequently. In preparing this First Australian SI edition, our aim was to create a text that is the future of Physics Education in Australia. We have further enhanced and developed University Physics to assimilate the best ideas from education research with enhanced problem-solving instruction, pioneering visual and conceptual pedagogy, the first systematically enhanced problems, and the most pedagogically proven and widely used online homework and tutorial system in the world, Mastering Physics.

Book Mathematical Physics

    Book Details:
  • Author : Bruce R. Kusse
  • Publisher : John Wiley & Sons
  • Release : 2010-01-05
  • ISBN : 3527618147
  • Pages : 689 pages

Download or read book Mathematical Physics written by Bruce R. Kusse and published by John Wiley & Sons. This book was released on 2010-01-05 with total page 689 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: What sets this volume apart from other mathematics texts is its emphasis on mathematical tools commonly used by scientists and engineers to solve real-world problems. Using a unique approach, it covers intermediate and advanced material in a manner appropriate for undergraduate students. Based on author Bruce Kusse's course at the Department of Applied and Engineering Physics at Cornell University, Mathematical Physics begins with essentials such as vector and tensor algebra, curvilinear coordinate systems, complex variables, Fourier series, Fourier and Laplace transforms, differential and integral equations, and solutions to Laplace's equations. The book moves on to explain complex topics that often fall through the cracks in undergraduate programs, including the Dirac delta-function, multivalued complex functions using branch cuts, branch points and Riemann sheets, contravariant and covariant tensors, and an introduction to group theory. This expanded second edition contains a new appendix on the calculus of variation -- a valuable addition to the already superb collection of topics on offer. This is an ideal text for upper-level undergraduates in physics, applied physics, physical chemistry, biophysics, and all areas of engineering. It allows physics professors to prepare students for a wide range of employment in science and engineering and makes an excellent reference for scientists and engineers in industry. Worked out examples appear throughout the book and exercises follow every chapter. Solutions to the odd-numbered exercises are available for lecturers at www.wiley-vch.de/textbooks/.
