God wants to set us free and give us victory over everything that hinders us in our daily walk with Him. His desire is that we have total victory in every sense of the word. God's Word shows us how to live in total victory. It shows us that God has given us tools to use for our deliverance. God said to Moses: "What is that in thine hand?" Exodus 4:2 In the case of Moses, it was a rod, but God has placed many wonderful tools in our hands that we must use to free ourselves from the devices of every enemy so that we can have total victory.
