Book Exuberant speculations on cloud formations

Download or read book Exuberant speculations on cloud formations written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, Wm. C. Eldon Serjeant and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2024-08-30 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Part 1. Introduction by H.P. Blavatsky. Biblical phraseology is often used to ascribe to natural phenomena meanings, which could have been more clearly conveyed and better explained by the symbols of the ancient Wisdom-Religion. Cloud formations in the shape of persons or things, is an old and well-accredited fact in magic. Whether viewed as warnings, omens, or meaningful symbols, their interpretation by the beholder is wholly subjective, as much as when he beholds and contemplates the invisible Universe. The conclusions of Captain Serjeant have been already reached by many minds pursuing different paths. Great changes are approaching, both in the temporal and in the spiritual life of humanity, and these changes presage the dawn of better days and nobler ideas. Part 2. Heavenly formations interpreted by Wm. C. Eldon Serjeant F.T.S., and New Dispensationist, annotated by H.P. Blavatsky. The Lion is the symbol of Wisdom. But, as it is impossible to single out one element of a Trinity, it is necessary to remember that Wisdom is also Love and Truth. It is not Her Most Gracious Majesty, who is meant, but the unseen Victoria whose outward manifestation the Queen is supposed to be. It is as though the Queen is the mouth-piece of the Intelligence behind, as the Foreign Secretary is the mouth-piece of the foreign policy of her Government. The Kingdom of Heaven must be taken by violence (i.e., must be conquered, for it does not surrender), and an entrance effected in an instant (at the very end). But let us not get ahead of ourselves, the conquest of spirit over matter is an exceedingly long and arduous quest for the brave warrior. Angels may weep and mourn over the discord now prevailing in the world, but on the principle that there is no truth without a paradox, there must also be a great truth in this article, but its disentanglement is a matter of much labour and thought.

Book Samson and Hercules are personifications of neophytes near the end of their trials

Download or read book Samson and Hercules are personifications of neophytes near the end of their trials written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2022-11-21 with total page 16 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Samson and Samuel were Nazars, i.e., consecrated to the service of God. So were Zoroaster (son of Ishta), Azara-Ezra, and Zorobabel (son of Babylon). Nazars were a monastic class of celibates. Apart from Samson and Samuel, Paul and Joseph were also Nazars. Samson was a true Nazarite, i.e., vowed to the service of God. His hair was his strength. His father was Manu. The mother of his counterpart, Samuel, was Anna. An old palm leaf depicts a blind giant of Ceylonian antiquity and fame, with hair reaching to the ground and with outstretched arms embracing the four central pillars of a pagoda, pulling them down onto a crowd of armed enemies. That giant is an antitype of the biblical Samson. Samson was consecrated before his birth to become a Nazarite, i.e., an Adept. His sin with Delilah and the cropping of his long hair shows how well he kept his sacred vow. His allegory is further evidence of the Esotericism of the Bible, as also the character of the “Mystery Gods” of the Jews. Biblical Samson is the Hindu Ganesha; Samuel is the Hebrew Hercules and double of Samson; both are fictitious characters. King David is the Israelitish King Arthur. Samson and Hercules are personifications of neophytes to Initiation, near the end of their trials. They kneel before the hierophant, who cuts off seven locks of their hair representing the golden beams of the sun; and these are replaced by a wreath of sharp ligneous spines, symbolizing the loss. There are two crucifixions, astronomically connected: the crucifixion of the Serpent of Wisdom falling from on high to illumine the hearts and minds of men, and the “crucifixion” of Jesus-Chrēstos, the virtuous man, fabricated by Ecclesiastical Christianity. The neophyte who can overcome the dreadful trials of Initiation (on the cross of his worldly passions) dies in the Chrēstos condition (freed from the clutches of matter) before his second and triumphant birth in Spirit as Christos.

Book Pantheistic Theosophy is irreconcilable with Roman Catholicism

Download or read book Pantheistic Theosophy is irreconcilable with Roman Catholicism written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2020-11-13 with total page 90 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Part 1. Abbe Roca’s ecclesiastical views upon the Esotericism of Christian Dogma. Part 2. Madame Blavatsky refutes the “Word made flesh” of the Catholic Church. Christian texts are allegories to the archaic mysteries of the Cycle of Initiation, and keys to the once universal mystery-language. When esoterically interpreted, they reveal their fundamental identify with the same Universal Truths. By imposing the dogma of the “Word made flesh,” the Latin Church is diametrically opposed to the tenets of Eastern Occultism, thus maintaining an abyss between East and West as long as neither yields an inch. Today’s Christians are the usurpers of a name they no longer understand. By denying the Divine Logos to any other man, except Jesus of Nazareth, the Churches carnalised the Christos of the Gnostics, and that alone prevents them having any point in common with the disciples of the Archaic Wisdom. The Church of Rome was Gnostic, just as much as the Marcionites were, until the middle of the second century. Further evidence that Rome has wandered farthest from the real religion of the mystical Christ is that it adopted the solar tonsure proper to the Egyptian priests of the public temples, and to the lamas and bonzes of the popular Buddhist cult. No “sacrificial victim” can be united with Christ triumphant before passing through the stage of the suffering Chrēst, who was put to death on the cross of his passions. It is the light of the glorious Christ-Spirit that directs the modern Theosophical movement. The Astronomical Christ can have only one anniversary of birth and resurrection in years because his parents are the Sun and the Moon, the heavenly bodies that accompany “the Man crucified in Space.” Paul had been converted not to the Jesus of Nazareth but to the Christos of the Gnostics. In his Epistles he has been made to fulminate against the heretics — Peter, James, and the other Apostles! The sacred fire which Prometheus “stole” from the gods is the flame of self-consciousness, the spark that quickened the human mind. The supposed “theft” of the sexual flame is the outcome of evolution, of which the Darwinian theory is but the rough exterior husk on the material plane. Since men had discovered the secret of physical creation, and were procreating in their turn, what was the use of god-creators? The true Christ is the glorious Ego, triumphant over the flesh. We solemnly reject the dogma of Ascension, which degrades the great mystery of Universal Unity. Mysteries were invented by those who are bend on exercising power in order to manipulate the ignorant by arrogating the prerogative of gods. Did you know that the “mysteries” of the Catholic Church are those of the Brahmanas, though under other names? Part 3. Abbe Roca counter-responds to Madame Blavatsky’s observations. Part 4. Madame Blavatsky debunks Abbe Roca’s mistaken notions concerning her observations. The Abbé has consigned the theological Christ to the background, and has not breathed a word about the esoteric Christos. Moreover, he bears me a grudge for having displayed what he pleases to call “such erudition.” He deceives himself in fancying he understands Buddhism but he does not know it even exoterically, any more than Hinduism, even in its popular form. Theosophy is neither Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism, Mohammedanism, Hinduism, nor any other –ism: it is the esoteric synthesis of the world’s religions, philosophies, and sciences. Abbé Roca has fabricated for himself a Christianity of his own. Our Masters are far too great to bedizen themselves with the peacock’s feathers of infallibility. The puff of wind which knocks down a house of cards may easily pass for a heavy squall in the eyes of the architect who built it; but if the Abbé lays the blame on the puff, rather than on the weakness of his edifice, this is certainly not my fault. The homage he renders to the wisdom of our Masters, instead of intoxicating me by its heady fumes as he alleges, it made me feel an even deeper mistrust of his motives. A divine Christ has never existed under a human form outside the imagination of blasphemers, who have carnalised a universal and wholly impersonal principle. The Man-God of the Christians was never historical person. He is a deified personification of the glorified type of the great Hierophants of the Temples, and his story as told in the New Testament is a mere allegory, assuredly containing profound esoteric truths, but still an allegory. Matthew’s “strait is the gate and narrow is the way” applies neither to the Abbé nor to his faith. In his Church, the way and the gate to heaven become wider in proportion to the sums paid by the faithful. The Churches, which style themselves “Christian,” are nothing but whited sepulchres filled with the dead bones of esoteric paganism and moral putrefaction. It is infinetly more difficult, more meritorious, and more godlike, to live for the love of, whether man or an ideal, than to die for it. We have thus shown to the Abbé what we, Occultists, know as opposed to what some Fathers of the Church believed they knew. Not only he deceives himself, he is hopelessly optimistic. Though I amply elaborated upon the real Christ, i.e., the impersonal pre-Christian Logos, Abbé Roca keeps reverting back to the ecclesiastical and dogmatic Christ of his Church. Part 5. Abbe Roca’s final response, annotated by Madame Blavatsky. Part 6. Fearless Roca was finally defrocked for coquetting too openly with Theosophy. Alas! His glorious dream of a reconciliation between Pantheistic Theosophy and a Socialistic Latin Church, under a Caesaro-Papal head, came to an abrupt end.

Book Born from the pores of the skin

Download or read book Born from the pores of the skin written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2017-07-13 with total page 21 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: How the psychomagnetic life force is being stored and transmitted. The first human stock was projected by semi-divine Beings out of their own essence. They were shadows of the Shadows. Nymphs or Goddesses of Moisture were born from the pores of Varuna-Ouranos, the Ocean God. Thus late Second to early Third Root-Races oozed out the hair pores of their parents. The White Island was their land and cradle. Legend has it that Nymph Pramlocha wiped the perspiration from her body with the leaves of the trees as she passed through the air and gave birth to Marisha, the “sweat-born,” or Second Root-Race. Hair accumulates the energy of him who grew it. The electromagnetic force of animal nature resides in the hair. But today’s fashion forbids Christians wearing their hair long. Jesus being a Nazarite, worn his hair wavy and curling, flowing down upon his shoulders, and parted in the middle of the head. Animal Magnetism, the alter ego of Electricity, is none other than the universal Life-Force or Fohat, individualised and polarised to attraction and repulsion. It penetrates and moves matter regardless of porosity. How? The Will of one person traverses space, envelops the body of another, penetrates through his pores, and forces him to a predetermined action — if the latter’s faculties are weaker. Likewise, the pregnant woman transmits mental images to the unborn child. In ancient rites of initiation, the neophyte with hair streaming out in every direction, as if the head was electrified, was made to kneel before the hierophant.

Book We should all refrain from the mania of celebrating personalities

Download or read book We should all refrain from the mania of celebrating personalities written by Samuel Taylor Coleridge and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2022-02-17 with total page 12 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Voluminous biographical trivialities render the real character almost invisible, like the counterfeit frankincense which smoke-blacks the favourite idol of a Catholic Church. To scribble trifles on the glass of an inn window is the mark of an idler; but to engrave them on the marble monument, sacred to the memory of the departed Great, is something worse than idleness. As insignificant stories derive no real respectability from the eminence of the person who happens to be the subject of them, they are apt to have their insipidity seasoned by the same bad passions that accompany the habit of gossiping in general. And the misapprehensions of weak men meeting with the misinterpretations of malignant men, have often formed the groundwork of the most grievous calumnies. The duty of an honest biographer is to portray the prominent imperfections as well as excellencies of his subject. But this in not an excuse for heaping together a multitude of particulars, which can prove nothing of any man that might not have been taken for granted of all men. In the present age, of celebrating the personality, we should all desist from this mania of busying ourselves with the names of others, which is still more alarming as a symptom than it is troublesome as a disease. It is worse than a crime to inflict upon the mind vulgar scandal and personal anxiety, thus polluting with evil passions the very sanctuary to which we should flee for refuge from them! Roger North’s biography of Lord Chief Justice Saunders. Very corpulent and beastly, a mere lump of morbid flesh. Those whose ill fortune it was to stand near him were confessors, and in summer time almost martyrs. He seldom moved without a parcel of youths hanging about him, revelling and jesting with them. But he had a goodness of nature and disposition in such a great a degree, that he may be deservedly styled a true Philanthropist.

Book Rosicrucianism was one of many offshoots of Oriental Occultism

Download or read book Rosicrucianism was one of many offshoots of Oriental Occultism written by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky and published by Philaletheians UK. This book was released on 2022-03-28 with total page 27 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Rosicrucianism was not a sect, is was but one of many branches of the same tree. Rosicrucians no longer exist, the last of that fraternity having departed in the person of Cagliostro. Occultism is a double-edged weapon for one who is unprepared to devote his whole life to it. The theory of it, unaided by serious practice, will always remain a foolish and ignorant speculation. He who rejects the immortality of man’s soul cannot perceive the unity of homogeneity of his Creator through the plurality of heterogeneity, and he therefore condemns himself to live hand-by-hand with death in the “vale of tears.” Any attempt to learn about Occultism by book study alone will always prove insufficient — even to the analytical mind trained to extract the quintessence of truth scattered throughout myriads of contradictory statements — unless supported by practice and experience. As primitive Christianity split into numerous sects, so the science of Occultism gave birth to a variety of doctrines and brotherhoods. For example, the Egyptian Ophites, became the Christian Gnostics, shooting forth the Basilideans of the second century. And the original Rosicrucians, created the Paracelsists or Fire-Philosophers, the European Alchemists, and other branches of their sect. The Brotherhood of the Rosy Cross was not founded until the middle of the thirteenth century, by Christian Rosenkreuz — a reformed sorcerer. The Rosicrucians gave birth to the early Theosophists, at whose head was Paracelsus, and to the Alchemists, one of the most celebrated of whom was Thomas Vaughan who wrote the most practical things on Occultism, under the name of Eugenius Philalethes. The Welsh Alchemist was definitely “made before he became.” Unlike the European Rosicrucians who, in order “to become and not be made,” have struggled alone, violently robbing Nature of her secrets, the Oriental “Rosicrucians” in the serene beatitude of their divine knowledge, are ever ready to help the earnest student struggling “to become” with practical knowledge, which dissipates like a heavenly breeze the darkest clouds of sceptical doubt. Whereas the lofty principles and doctrines of Christ and Buddha were calculated to embrace the whole of humanity, Confucius confined his attention solely to his own countrymen without troubling his head about the rest of mankind. Intensely Chinese in patriotism and views, his philosophical doctrines are as much devoid of the purely poetic element, which characterizes the teachings of Christ and Buddha, as the religious tendencies of his people lack in that spiritual exaltation which we find, for instance, in India. Confucius did not have the depth of feeling and spiritual striving of his contemporary, Lao-tzu. The heavy, childish, cold, sensual nature of the Chinese explains the peculiarities of their history. Marginal are the differences between the Rosicrucian and the Oriental Kabbalah. American Spiritualism, which has proved such a sore in the side of the materialists, will soon become a science of mathematical certitude, instead of being regarded only as the crazy delusion of epileptic monomaniacs. The Zohar is an inexhaustible mine of hidden wisdom and mystery for all subsequent Kabbalists. All recent Kabbalahs are copies of the God’s Splendour. While the Oriental Kabbalah remained in its pure primitive shape, the Mosaic or Jewish one is full of drawbacks, and with the keys to many secrets purposely misinterpreted. If the primitive Rosicrucians learned their first lessons of wisdom from Oriental Masters, that was not so with their direct descendants, the Paracelsists: the Kabbalah of the latter Illuminati degenerated into the twin sister of the Jewish. The custodians of the real Kabbalah of primitive humanity are certain Oriental philosophers. Their location will not be revealed until the day when humanity shall awake from its spiritual lethargy, and open its blind eyes to the dazzling rays of Truth. Thus the light of Truth will finally dissipate the unhealthy mists of the battalions of religious sects which disgrace our times. They will warm up and recall into new life the millions of wretched souls, who shiver and are half frozen under the icy hand of deadly scepticism. Occultism without practice will ever be like the statue of Pygmalion that no one can animate without infusing into it a spark of the Sacred Divine Fire. The Jewish Kabbalah, the only authority of the European Occultist, is based on the secret meanings of the Hebrew scriptures, which afford no hope for the adepts to solve them practically. More! The likelihood of anyone becoming a practical Kabbalist-Rosicrucian through studying the Jewish Kabbalah single-handed, without being initiated and so being “made” such by someone who “knows,” is as foolish as to hope to thread the Cretan labyrinth without a clue, or to open the secret locks of the ingenious inventors of the mediaeval ages, without having possession of the keys. The Seventh Rule of the Rosicrucian “who became but was not made” has its secret meaning, like every other phrase left by the Kabbalists to posterity. The Rosicrucian has to struggle alone and toil long years in the hope of finding out some of the lesser secrets of the great Kabbalah. His mental, moral, and physical fitness will be tested to the extreme. His spirit will have to pass through the ordeal of incarnation and life, and be baptised with matter before he could attain inner knowledge. There is nothing new under the Sun. There is not a science, nor a modern discovery in any section of it, which was not known to the Oriental Occultists of the hoary antiquity. What would not modern physicians, practitioners of their blind and lame science of medicine, give for a part of the knowledge of botany and plants! The hope of finding remnants of such wisdom as Ancient Asia possessed, ought to tempt our conceited modern science to explore that territory assiduously. Religions and sciences, laws and customs, they are all the direct products of Oriental Occultism, disguised by the hand of time, and palmed upon us under new pseudonyms. The time is near when the old superstitions and the errors of centuries will be swept away by the hurricane of Truth. There is scarcely a rite or ceremony of the Christian Church that does not descend from Occultism. When the devout worshippers of the Vatican lift up their eyes in mute adoration upon the head of their God on Earth, their Pontifex Maximus, what they admire the most is the caricatured head-dress, the Amazon-like helmet of Pallas Athene, the heathen goddess Minerva.
