Book The Frictional Properties of Self ligating Ceramic and Conventional Ceramic Brackets Tied with Elastomeric Ligatures

Download or read book The Frictional Properties of Self ligating Ceramic and Conventional Ceramic Brackets Tied with Elastomeric Ligatures written by Sara Batouli and published by . This book was released on 2010 with total page 112 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Objective: Ceramic brackets are becoming increasing utilized in the practice of orthodontics; however, little research regarding frictional values of these new brackets are released to the orthodontic practitioner. The goal of this research was to evaluate the frictional force of recent generations of ceramic brackets indluding two self-ligating ceramic brackets. Methods: Six different bracket systems were used in the study to compare the frictional values of four conventional ceramic brackets tied with elastomeric ligatures, and two self-ligating bracket systems (one active and one passive self-ligation). The Brackets used were the conventional ceramic bracket, American Radiance (American Orthodontics) and Ormco Inspire ICE (Ormco Orthodontics), the conventional ceramic brackets with metal slots, Clarity (3M Unitek) and Avex CXi (Opal Orthodontics),the passive self-ligating bracket, Clarity SL (3M Unitek) and the active self-ligating bracket In-Ovation C (GAC International)...

Book Principles in Contemporary Orthodontics

Download or read book Principles in Contemporary Orthodontics written by Silvano Naretto and published by BoD – Books on Demand. This book was released on 2011-11-25 with total page 600 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Orthodontics is a fast developing science as well as the field of medicine in general. The attempt of this book is to propose new possibilities and new ways of thinking about Orthodontics beside the ones presented in established and outstanding publications available elsewhere. Some of the presented chapters transmit basic information, other clinical experiences and further offer even a window to the future. In the hands of the reader this book could provide an useful tool for the exploration of the application of information, knowledge and belief to some orthodontic topics and questions.

Book Orthodontic Applications of Biomaterials

Download or read book Orthodontic Applications of Biomaterials written by Theodore Eliades and published by Woodhead Publishing. This book was released on 2016-11-22 with total page 320 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Orthodontic Applications of Biomaterials: A Clinical Guide reviews the applications of biomaterials and their effects on enamel preparation, bonding, bracket and archwire ligation, mechanotherapy, debonding, and long-term enamel structural, color, and surface effects. The book provides a step-by-step analysis of the phenomena occurring, their clinical importance, and their underlying cause without the use of complex mathematical or physical-chemical analyses, with the goal of providing 'digestible' evidence for the clinician. - Serves as a reference source of the spectrum of biomaterials used in orthodontics - Presents the most current evidence of state-of-the-art methods of materials research - Provides substantiation for the effects occurring during the materials' uses

Book excerpt: In this important new textbook all scientific and clinical aspects of orthodontic materials are described.Recent developments in science and technology have led to the introduction of a plethora of new orthodontic products. This work serves as an excellent source of information for a field that requires knowledge of basic elements of materials science, engineering, chemistry, and physics, as well as clinical orthodontics. The subject has been part of graduate orthodontic education for almost three decades. Besides servicing the orthodontic training programs, the book also - investigates the interactions of orthodontic materials with other dental materials as well as hard tissues in the oral cavity,- gives a background to allow for proper material selection for efficient orthodontic mechanics,- treats the issues of biocompatibility, cytotoxicity and mutagenicity of materials.
