It was proved by Daniel Suarez that in the one-dimensional case, the closed two-sided ideal of the full Toeplitz algebra T (Linfinity) generated by operators of the form TfTg-TgTf, where f, g ∈ Linfinity, coincides with T (Linfinity). With a different approach, we are able to show that for all n ≥ 1, the closed two-sided ideal of T (Linfinity) generated by operators of the above form, where f, g are required to be continuous in Bn or vanish almost everywhere in Bn\E where E is a nowhere dense set, is also all of T (Linfinity).

In general, the product TfTg is not a Toeplitz operator. Researchers have been interested in determining conditions on the symbols f and g for which TfTg is a Toeplitz operator. Another interesting direction is to study how close a Toeplitz product is to a Toeplitz operator. A natural question one may ask is: can a finite rank perturbation of TfTg be a Toeplitz operator? It turns out that if such a perturbation exists, then it must be unique. Several results have been obtained in this direction. In this thesis, we offer solutions when f and g belong to a certain class of finite sums of quasihomogeneous symbols and discuss their consequences. We also extend our results to the weighted Bergman spaces of unit disc, which, to the best of our knowledge, were not considered before.
