The story also takes place in the 2d Ranger Battalion and contrasts with the first by providing a cautionary tale of what can happen to an organization and its people when common sense leadership is absent and toxic leadership fills the void. Together, the two sections provide a real world case study that reinforces why common sense leadership matters, and how toxic leadership and the toxic leadership climates they create, can destroy an organization, its ability to successfully accomplish its purpose, and in extreme situations, the people that are forced to live and work under them.
