Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Asteroids, wars, volcanoes, and earthquakes continue to plague the earth. In spite of the incessant warnings to repent, a vast majority of people choose to turn away from God's salvation and pursue their own destinies; but the Lord is not one to be mocked by unbelievers or withhold his justice from the world. Ultimately when God ushers in the millennium, he establishes a righteous global government and restores creation to its original design of peace and abundance. With Satan in bondage, humankind flourishes under God's bountiful care and provision without any demonic influence to upset the balance. Yet after a thousand years, humanity corrupts God's creation. How can people fall so far from grace when given upright leaders and a perfect environment? Read this story to discover the answer. Biblical prophets predicted the millennium's outcome thousands of years ago and now you can unravel their prophetic teachings through the characters in this book. Be strong. Be courageous. Push aside the writings of Nostradamus or Rasputin and read what John, Isaiah, and Ezekiel describe as God's final strategy for heaven and earth--and humankind's place in this future world.

Book Grant Morrison

    Book Details:
  • Author : Marc Singer
  • Publisher : Univ. Press of Mississippi
  • Release : 2011-11-08
  • ISBN : 1628468955
  • Pages : 498 pages

Download or read book Grant Morrison written by Marc Singer and published by Univ. Press of Mississippi. This book was released on 2011-11-08 with total page 498 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: One of the most eclectic and distinctive writers currently working in comics, Grant Morrison (b. 1960) brings the auteurist sensibility of alternative comics and graphic novels to the popular genres—superhero, science fiction, and fantasy—that dominate the American and British comics industries. Morrison's comics range from bestsellers featuring the most universally recognized superhero franchises (All-Star Superman, New X-Men, Batman) to more independent, creator-owned work (The Invisibles, The Filth, We3) that defies any generic classification. In Grant Morrison: Combining the Worlds of Contemporary Comics, author Marc Singer examines how Morrison uses this fusion of styles to intervene in the major political, aesthetic, and intellectual challenges of our time. Morrison's comics blur the boundaries between fantasy and realism, mixing autobiographical representation and cultural critique with heroic adventure. They offer self-reflexive appraisals of their own genres while they experiment with the formal elements of comics. Perhaps most ambitiously, they challenge contemporary theories of language and meaning, seeking to develop new modes of expression grounded in comics' capacity for visual narrative and the fantasy genres' ability to make figurative meanings literal.

Book The Merging of Two Worlds

Download or read book The Merging of Two Worlds written by Roy E. Bourque and published by WestBow Press. This book was released on 2011-09 with total page 400 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: SCIENCE is a left-brained subject. It sees the world in mathematical models. It is all built on logic. RELIGION is a right-brained subject. It sees the world in associations. It is all built on symbolism. Misconceptions are what prevent us from reconciling the associations with the mathematical models. Once the misconceptions are revealed, the problem goes away. The teachings of Eastern Philosophy are interwoven throughout the Old and New Testaments. What they have to say explains a great deal about what the Holy Bible is trying to say to us. It reveals much of the symbolism used in religion so that it can be understood. It takes you beyond the realm of faith and into the realm of knowing. The Mayan Calendar and its apparent connection to end-time prophecy is also reviewed. The evolution of consciousness that it reveals is leading us on a very definite path. Taken collectively, evolution, split brain, Eastern Philosophy, Christianity, and the Mayan Calendar are interwoven to present a worldview that is equally fascinating and very promising.

Book Both Worlds at Once

  • Author : Amir Cohen-Shalev
  • Publisher : University Press of America
  • Release : 2002
  • ISBN : 9780761821878
  • Pages : 184 pages

Download or read book Both Worlds at Once written by Amir Cohen-Shalev and published by University Press of America. This book was released on 2002 with total page 184 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Both Worlds at Once is a study of works of art conceived and produced late in their creators' careers. It pronounces an alternative to the mainstream life span creativity research which has, in general, adopted a decline perspective to the fruits of old age. Amir Cohen-Shalev argues that this age-decrement approach misses what the artists themselves tried to do in old age, which is often to develop a new form that allows them to thrive on ambivalence. Against the bleak predictions of developmental psychology and folk wisdom, this book focuses on old age as a unique stage of creative activity.

As the orthodox structures of the West appear increasingly hollow and irrelevant, the Western way trod by the shaman and the magus remains vital, with many practical methods for reawakening awareness and reconnecting with the earth. In addition to its in-depth theoretical analysis, Walkers Between the Worlds contains practical exercises drawn from traditional teaching methods used by both native and hermetic traditions to help the reader explore these mysteries.

Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Beyond Two Worlds brings together scholars of Native history and Native American studies to offer fresh insights into the methodological and conceptual significance of the "two-worlds framework." They address the following questions: Where did the two-worlds framework originate? How has it changed over time? How does it continue to operate in today's world? Most people recognize the language of binaries birthed by the two-worlds trope—savage and civilized, East and West, primitive and modern. For more than four centuries, this lexicon has served as a grammar for settler colonialism. While many scholars have chastised this type of terminology in recent years, the power behind these words persists. With imagination and a critical evaluation of how language, politics, economics, and culture all influence the expectations that we place on one another, the contributors to this volume rethink the two-worlds trope, adding considerably to our understanding of the past and present.

Book Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone A Combination of Genres

Download or read book Harry Potter and the Philosopher s Stone A Combination of Genres written by Natalie Schneider and published by GRIN Verlag. This book was released on 2018-12-06 with total page 31 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Didactics for the subject English - Literature, Works, Karlsruhe University of Education, language: English, abstract: The following essay aims to find answers to the question of how the combination of several different genres contributes to the fascination of the Harry Potter novels. This will, due to space restrictions, be achieved through an exemplary analysis of the three genres that were amongst the most frequently mentioned in connection with the Harry Potter books: Fantasy, the folktale, and the school story. Before taking a closer look at the three major genres of Harry Potter, the following chapter will first of all briefly define the concept of genre in general, give a short explanation of how genres can be used in terms of marketing strategies and of how they can influence the reader. The main emphasis of the essay will be on the following three chapters that are more or less constructed equally and contain in each case one of the above-mentioned genres. In the first part of each chapter, the genre will be defined and examined according to its origins, followed by an analysis of the main characteristics that constitute each genre. Subsequently, the characteristics of each genre will be analysed within Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, to show that Rowling’s book series actually incorporates the different genres. Finally, it will be illustrated, how the three different genres affect the reader, leading to the fascination of the novels. As the fantasy genre influences all the others, this genre will be presented first and the most extensive, followed by the folktale and ultimately the school story.
