Book Handbook of Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectra of Polymers

Download or read book Handbook of Fourier Transform Raman and Infrared Spectra of Polymers written by A.H. Kuptsov and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 1998-10-29 with total page 571 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: A collection of infrared and Raman spectra of 500 natural and synthetic polymers of industrial importance is presented in this book. A large variety of compounds are included, starting with linear polyolefins and finishing with complex biopolymers and related compounds. The spectra were registered using Infrared Fourier Transform Spectrometers in the laboratory of the All-Russia Institute of Forensic Sciences. The IR and Raman spectra are presented together on the same sheet. The accompanying data include general and structure formulae, CAS register numbers, and sample preparation conditions. Features of this book: • Continues the long tradition of publishing specific and standard data of new chemical compounds. • For low-molecular weight substances, complementary IR and Raman spectra are featured on the same sample and printed on the same page. This "fingerprint" data allows the substance of the sample to be identified without doubt. • An important feature of this unique collection of data is the increase in the identification precision of unknown substances. • Peak tables are available in digital (ASCII) format, on a diskette delivered with the book. This allows the user to search for unknowns. • All the spectra in the collection are base-line corrected. This book will be of interest to scientists involved in the synthesis of new polymeric materials, polymer identification, and quality control. Libraries of scientific institutes, research centers, and universities involved in vibrational spectroscopy will also find this collection invaluable.

Book Gaussian Basis Sets for Molecular Calculations

Download or read book Gaussian Basis Sets for Molecular Calculations written by S. Huzinaga and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 435 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical Sciences Data, Volume 16: Gaussian Basis Sets for Molecular Calculations provides information pertinent to the Gaussian basis sets, with emphasis on lithium, radon, and important ions. This book discusses the polarization functions prepared for lithium through radon for further improvement of the basis sets. Organized into three chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the basis set for the most stable negative and positive ions. This text then explores the total atomic energies given by the basis sets. Other chapters consider the distinction between diffuse functions and polarization function. This book presents as well the exponents of polarization function. The final chapter deals with the Gaussian basis sets. This book is a valuable resource for chemists, scientists, and research workers.

Book Silica Glass and Binary Silicate Glasses

Download or read book Silica Glass and Binary Silicate Glasses written by and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2012-12-02 with total page 686 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: Physical Sciences Data, Volume 15: Handbook of Glass Data: Silica Glass and Binary Silicate Glasses, Part A presents information on the systems capable of forming glasses by cooling melts. This book provides data on the crystallization rates of glasses. Organized into six chapters, this volume begins with an overview of the melt properties for the glass-forming systems. This text then examines the notion of a component that is very significant for determining the number of components in each investigated glass. Other chapters consider the contents of several oxides of the same element but in different valent state as the reason to transfer a glass to the category of the increased number of components. This book discusses as well the analytical composition of glass. The final chapter deals with flotation method using tetrabromoethane and benzene mixture. This book is a valuable resource for glass specialists, chemists, engineers, scientists, and information science workers.

Book Self diffusion in Electrolyte Solutions

Download or read book Self diffusion in Electrolyte Solutions written by R. Mills and published by Elsevier. This book was released on 2013-10-22 with total page 355 pages. Available in PDF, EPUB and Kindle. Book excerpt: This compilation - the first of its kind - fills a real gap in the field of electrolyte data. Virtually all self-diffusion data in electrolyte solutions as reported in the literature have been examined and the book contains over 400 tables covering diffusion in binary and ternary aqueous solutions, in mixed solvents, and of non-electrolytes in various solvents. An important feature of the compilation is that all data have been critically examined and their accuracy assessed. Other features are an introductory chapter in which the methods of measurement are reviewed; appendices containing tables of the limiting self-diffusion coefficients of ions; and a list of references to data which have been omitted but where information about the diffusing system is given. This is the only complete compilation of self-diffusion data in electrolyte solutions. It will appeal to electrochemists in general, particularly now that recent developments in the theory of transport processes require these data. It will also have a special appeal to electroanalytical chemists in that the ionic self-diffusion coefficient is an important quantity for the interpretation of electrode reactions. In addition, the book will interest geochemists and environmental chemists because the migration of radioactive ions from nuclear waste in certain aqueous media will be governed by the tracer-diffusion coefficient.
