Estudos das relações entre geologia, geormorfologia e pedologia podem auxiliar o entendimento da distribuição geográfica dos solos em uma dada paisagem, assim como avaliações das composições mineralógica e química dos perfis de alteração podem colaborar no entendimento dos processos de pedogênese. O estudo das características e relações envolvendo a geologia, geomorfologia e solos no Distrito Federal (DF) vêm sendo desenvolvidos ao longo dos anos. Técnicas têm sido adotadas para um melhor entendimento, tais como: difratometria de raio-x na análise mineralógica, Espectroscopia Atômica com Plasma de Acoplamento Indutivo (ICP-AES) para caracterização geoquímica, análises físicas e químicas do solo. Atualmente, nos mapeamento detalhados combinações de métodos de análises têm sido empregadas para auxiliar na classificação dos solos, aliadas às técnicas computacionais que utilizem a geotecnologia. Este trabalho objetivou uma avaliação dos solos nas Chapadas Elevadas do Distrito Federal e as relações entre geologia, geormorfologia dos solos, a fim de gerar um modelo da distribuição pedológica neste fragmento da paisagem do DF.

These are: (1) the mediation between unity and diversity: what ties a society together and what keeps it apart. (2) The relations between citizens and their helpers: why the democratic deficit in the European Union can not be eliminated solely by making mechanisms of direct citizens participation and representation more efficient. Needed are also institutions that make direct participation redundant because they routinely work with integrity, generating expected and desired outcomes. (3) The relation between democratic design and historical drift: To what degree democracies are able to design and reform key institutions of governance so that their structures reflect popular will, understanding and control. (4) The co-existence of old and new political orders: How elements of a new order may supplement rather than replace elements of the old order, generating a 'mixed order' based on partly inconsistent principles and rules.

The analysis is forward-looking, taking into account the potential impact of the Lisbon Treaty on EU criminal law.
